And much more recently, they'd either let your house burn because you weren't insured by the company that sponsored their fire company, or you'd have fire companies fighting against each other at the scene of a fire because the members of each company were of a specific ethnicity and political affiliation and hated the living guts of the other guys...

Apparently that was a thing in Philadelphia in the 1840s and 50s, they had fire companies composed of WASPs and fire companies composed of Irish Catholics, and usually they were more concerned with enforcing which fire company's turf they were on than with actually fighting the fire...

Whatever differences we may have on what form law enforcement should take, hopefully we all should be able to agree that it ought to be public and non-discrimatory.

We need to release non-violent offenders like drug users and prostitutes with employment and educational programs. Right now the US has the highest incarceration rate in the world and there's no reason for it. Plus, fewer prisons and prisoners will be able to pay for these rehabilitation programs

Well, Kowani, Cordel, and I have already posted all those sources on how ineffective police are and the harm they can cause to communities, as well as more helpful methods. But by all means continue to claim we have none if you'd feel better that way.

No, all you do is claim that anything less than a 100% closure rate is proof that police are useless and we're better off without them, ignoring actual evidence like the crime rate in CHAZ going through the roof when the police weren't there.
