Pretty much. Except for Sun insisting that we're all wrong.

Normal thread then.

Who the hell cares about celibacy?
If someone mentions that as one of their traits I’ll know they’re uninteresting.

My personal preferences aren't relevant, there's the premise of natural law preceded by divine way or command. As of now, I prefer marriage for myself. However, celibacy tends to be the way of people who have really aligned their conduct with the natural law, again preceded by divine way.

What do you mean? It's great to have friendships where you're not being hit on or someone stops talking to you because they're expecting "more" from you. Celibacy maintains that stability on your end as an individual, allowing for beautiful relationships.

Maybe if you think that this is what sex is about, you should indeed stay celibate...

Given that one can have meaningful and deep relationships unencumbered by sex while still noncelibate, celibacy seems unnecessary.

Sex is not about dishonesty. It's ultimately about God. While celibacy is the most logical pursuit, sex within marriage is possibly more fruitful for some than others.

Sure there is the fact that such a premise exists, it is of course not based in reality. Your following statement makes even less sense.

Nope, sex has nothing to do with god. Sex is personal or about a relationship with another human. Your god is not welcome as a third in this act. Celibacy is no more logical then having sex.

Let's narrow that down. While technically true, our friendships and romantic relationships necessitate distinct boundaries. For example, the difference between friendship and courtship.

I'm an atheist. God is the furthest thing on my mind when I'm in the bedroom with my boyfriend. While it's fine to believe that celibacy is the right choice for you because God said so, I think it's unfair to slut-shame others for their personal choice because of what you believe in. Sex, to you, may be about God and I applaud you for upholding your own personal values like that - but sometimes people need to remember that their personal values are not going to be the same as everyone's personal values.

Sure. And since one can have a sexual relationship with one person and pursue friendships with others, celibacy is not necessary for deep and meaningful relationships with others.

Divine law specifically, is the order that comes from transcendence.

Well since neither you, nor anyone, is actually transcendent, we can have no idea what that order is. And your saying it involves celibacy is completely baseless speculation. It could just as well involve jelly babies.
