As I said, it needs to be remedied ASAP.

That's honestly wishful thinking. This will continue to be an issue for decades to come.

I’m not so sure. I don’t live in America myself, and I’m aware that the media as a whole overhypes things, but from what I’m seeing tensions in the US are at a boiling point. As in “the lid is rattling around on the pot”.

It was that way a little over 160 years ago. But all of that is a discussion for a different thread I assume.

I mean 155 years ago slavery was abolished in the US, so it seemed to have worked then.

How is it going to provide defense and security without taxes?

Call me when congressmen are killing each other on the debate floor.

My bad, the killing didn’t happen in a Congress itself.

As divided as Americans may (appear) to be now, this is nothing to divide that slavery created in the nation.

Congressman-on-Congressman attempted murder was quite popular in the years leading up to the Civil War.

Ah yes.

True. You don’t have that in the US at current. However, the armed militias, radical activists groups from spectrum to spectrum, and the riots aren’t exactly signs of coming peace either.

Great idea. Fifty random shaped countries with vastly different resources. Like Africa!

The only way I would want the Federal government to be dissolved is if it was being reformed into a Parliamentary system. Presidential systems are just awful, and almost always (if not always) leads to corrupt regimes and a loss of democracy. Plus it puts more public focus on the actual Legislators, rather than having an eye single to the Presidency, making local government more effective as well.

This is as far as I understand it, of course. I do not have actual experience with such systems and may be wrong or misguided.

The Federal government should be increased at it's current pace, states rights should be abolished and a centralized government established in DC to crush dissent, Puerto rico and other territories need to be directly absorbed into the "union".

The Democrats need to expand the court as well since they now have control.

also vastly more power needs to be given to the FBI to investigate domestic terror.

I see you get the bigger picture, the Federal Government is not given enough power, it needs to truly become a Leviathan of a government.
