It won’t. It doesn’t actually change anything in the Middle East. Morocco is to far from Israel to have taken part in any conflict with it, and the situation in Western Sahara is just the US recognizing what has been de facto for years now.

Then there is the fact that a good number are in neighboring nations waiting to go back home. Supposedly, the Western Saharans control 30% of the eastern part of Western Sahara. It all flat desert with some mountains in the South. Maybe they could declare that part an independent nation and be recognized by the international community. Has for the other 70%, Morocco will never give it up. They know Western Saharans cannot possibly do anything to them.

They already declared it independent, along with the rest of Western Sahara. They’re not going to stop fighting, their head quarters is literally in a fucking refugee camp.

Seeing as the linchpin of the whole deal is the recent Presidential proclamation regarding Western Sahara, a document with zero force of law and dubious practical application that can and will be reversed in a little over a month, one wonders how long the "normalization" will last. I give it until the spring at the outside.

Personally, I am absolutely happy. Israel is a legitimate state, and I'm glad the Arab world is starting to recognize it as such. However Palestine is also a legitimate state. I believe in the two-state solution.

It is good to see countries recognising Israel is there and not going away, and accordingly seeking to build more normal relations rather than linger on decades-old defeats. It's a very turbulent region of the world, so the possibility of establishing institutions for peaceable resolutions of disputes seems pretty remote. But you have to start somewhere.

How about starting by giving the Sahrawis and Palestinians back their land.

You can recognise Israel and still want an independent Palestine. I support more nations in the arab world recognising Israel, helps with tensions in the region.

As a strong supporter of Israel and the Jewish People, I congratulate Republican President Trump for the Israel, Morocco peace deal, also the Israel peace deals with The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan. As well as a possible peace deal with Saudi Arabia, they are working on. GMS.
