Ironically, the impact of this nonsense may be to facilitate the certification of results once Congress can convene again.

Who among the Republican waverers is going to want to associate themselves with a disaster that even Lindsey Graham and Mike Pence have found enough spine to condemn?

Just from a cinematic perspective the line of law enforcement vehicles with their lights on driving down that road with arches was kind of neat looking.

He's not going to do more than tell them to be peaceful, because a) it's him who whipped them up to this point, and b) it defeats his narrative that this election was rigged if he tells people to accept the election.
