Idk if you know who I mean, but I've forgotten his name. What happened to that other aging former politician who was seriously loyal to Trump? He seems to have disappeared.

Jeff Sessions? Giuliani was a more universally beloved figure after the events of 9/11. What happened with Sessions was humiliating, but it wasn't disgraceful.

We can argue that this is guilty of statism (i.e. acting like a state) and it has to be dealt with just like all other forms of statism. Murder, robbery, rape..these are all instances of statism, that is, coercion.

Nah, significantly older and more senior. I think he ran for president once but didn't get very far in the primaries.

Abolitionism in the North has leagued itself with Radical Democracy, and so the Slave Power was forced to ally itself with the Money Power; that is the great fact of the age.

Not really. It depends on which industry one is in. You don’t have to be ruthless to be a tech leader.

Was British East India Company essentially also a state? What Shell does is simply statism.

When has that happened in recent history?

The early 2000's with Coca-Cola. A lot of Brazilian logging and agriculture companies also routinely kill indigenous people in their pursuit of destroying the Amazon Rainforest. Canada's mining companies also have a pretty brutal reputation in parts of Latin America.

"Everything bad is statism". I guess this is the third-cousin once-removed to "Everything I Don't Like is Communism" and its brother "Everything I Don't Like is Fascism".

So far, we've seen "statism" blamed for corrupt corporations, warlords, gangs, murder, rape and robbery. I suppose, now we'll find out that it shot JR and JFK and also was responsible for the Bermuda Triangle. :p

Nah. I think you do not realize that it is much easier to become one in tech compared to other industries. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg are not particularly ruthless people.

Mark Zuckerberg has been noted by many people who know him to be incredibly ruthless. Bill Gates was also incredibly ruthless early on and was known to being incredibly prone to micromanagement and excessive monitoring of his workforce. Not to mention him trying to form a monopoly and crushing any competition before it even had a chance. Steve Jobs was also notoriously ruthless.

The tech industry is actually known for having some pretty harsh and ruthless leaders within it.

I doubt it. The brass already refused to follow Trump when he tried to deploy troops during the George Floyd protests.
