We're halfway to Brave New World at this point. Except with more killer drones and less orgies. Makes me wonder if the Futurians drew straws as to who would write on what hypothetical future topic, there wasn't much overlap between them.

But I digress. There is a DC National Guard, and with a hundred members it will protect Washington D.C. from peaceful demonstrators.

How bent out of shape would Trump be if the DC National Guard was called out for his supporters after he so badly wanted to sic them on the BLM protests...

"It was golden, purple, violet, gray and blue. It was that beauty that the great poets dream about but describe most poorly and inadequately..."

Usually soldiers are sent after the working class, such as when the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1968 built a shanty town in a proto-occupy movement to protest insufficient efforts against poverty.

Or against the Bonus Army for that matter.

So I don't think Trump supporters will be the first to be rounded up.

The Proud Boys are strange. Why would they have a flag with a chicken on it? We are not French, we do not respect Le coq gaulois.
I don't think they could be supported domestically. The Proud Boys must be foreign supported, influencing our youth.

Ironically enough, the Republican Party has the largest working class base of the two major parties, while the Democrats have much of the big business and "coastal elites". That’s also why the working class people who do support the Democrats feel alienated by the party establishment, and gravitate towards movements like Occupy Wall Street and politicians like Sanders

Neither party really cares about anyone who has to work for someone else for their money. That's why I dont usually vote and why I'm already tired of Joe Biden despite him not being president yet.

Democrats have a lot of support from certain working class groups, notably urban and ethnic minority working class groups.

For example, there are states like Michigan, Nevada, and New Mexico that are pretty poor but vote democrat.

Working class minorities support dems while working class whites often vote republican. I think both are starting to realize though that neither party really cares. Tupac was right. They don't give a fuck about us.

Actually the defence secretaries were a little more specific in saying that the military cannot, and must not, be used to determine the election. We're at the point where people are worried that Trump is so desperate he'll resort to extraordinary means, inasmuch as he's already resorted to extraordinary means by any standard but there's always further for him to go into unhinged crazy land.

They said that because while the generals are not on Trump's side, 40% of the rank and file soldiers are.

A bunch of nimble minds in the Trump camp have floated the idea of using martial law to 're-run' the election and other literal despot shit. There's no mechanism for that and not how martial law works, but this is the guy who had to have it explained to him why he can't nuke hurricanes.
