Betrayed In A Game of Risk

On the original topic of this thread, no, my trust is not at all damaged. When I'm playing a game with other people, I expect that they play to win; if that means betrayal, it means betrayal. Games are not real life and events that happen in game should not be responded to as if they happened in real life.

Then I guess we all know who's getting sent to the shadow realm when someone top decks Exodia...

It's a board game.

I can't imagine who'd break off a serious relationship over something so trivial as a board game.

Perhaps a couple in a permanent D/S relation; where the sub deceiving the master is seen as a breach of contract?
But then they should not be playing RISK in the first place.

Not my area of expertise, but I thought -- in those circumstances -- submission was still only consensual. That's why 50 Shades took all the flak for its portrayal... that and its crappy prose.

In retrospect, I'm not even sure why I'd want anyone to -- for want of a better phrase -- go easy on me in a board game. If they don't compete or play at their best, in order to let me feel better, they're not respecting me as an adult. That's not the basis for a healthy relationship with a "Special Someone".

That might be fun, depending on how it was set up (a brief look hasn't found anything that seems to enable people to choose who they want to play Risk against online, though -- the only one I found seems to pair you automatically with random players from what I've read -- but I haven't got time for a long look, so I could be wrong).

Thats not a binding in game rule though. Its just an agreement that can be broken without penalty. And there is no international law in Risk to punish me so if breaking the pact is to my benefit, why would I not?
