No Risk player should shoot for second.
Controlled by the same player who controls The Allied Tribe.

I'm not as active as I used to be (probably active once every 3-7 days) as I'm spending a lot more time on more important things. This has nothing to do with why I'm not as active, but I'm sad because a lot of ideas I thought of but never used in an F7 thread (e.g. the life simulator and make a multiverse) were used. Next time I think of something I should probably use it immediately instead of waiting a few months and having somebody else take it.

Such an act by my wife would be celebrated as appropriate conduct in a strategy game. I dare say I would at the minimum approve!

I refuse to believe that an attacker could even get that many winning rolls in one turn, I swear those dice are loaded.

I would expect my significant other to betray me in Risk, and I think she would expect me to do the same. It's a competitive game, and we're competitive people, just as most people are deep down.

Wouldn't change anything, although in that singular moment when somebody betrays you in Risk, it does hurt. I remember, years ago, playing an all-night Risk game with some friends. Midway through, I broke a long-standing alliance and pretty much ruined the chances of that player. He was pretty pissed at me for a good 24 hours.

You can get massive chains of bad rolls but the attacker has a considerable advantage with the 3 dice vs 2 dice

Also, in late game aside from a few giant armies to defend chokepoints to protect continental bonuses, most territories are defended by only soldier

If I'm at my best, I like to think I'd be impressed and congratulate her for eliminating me in one turn.

But I'd also be reminded why I stopped playing Diplomacy (which is like risk, but only Europe). I think I'd decide I'm better off not playing games like Risk with loved ones.

It's a board game.

I can't imagine who'd break off a serious relationship over something so trivial as a board game.

Everyone tries to win board games. It's the nature of them. As Blaat said, next time, I'd go all-out to win.

Our friendly "rivalry" could be part of the fun of our relationship.

So, option three.

Judging by this, I should get a version of Risk. It sounds very fun.

I’ve got to agree with Blaat, I’d love them even more if they turned on me. Not only do they possess the strategic prowess and cut-throat mentality to do whatever it takes to get what they want - wait.

But to be completely honest, It’d be something really funny and depending on the person I’d probably poke fun at them about it and in the scenario in which I get the chance to pay back the favor...?

I dunno, might be mean. May as well be honorable :^)

So yeah, Three.

But this entire scenario doesn’t matter anyway, since I never lose a game of Risk

Perhaps a couple in a permanent D/S relation; where the sub deceiving the master is seen as a breach of contract?
But then they should not be playing RISK in the first place.

To quote a popular saying about a different board game, there are two types of Diplomacy players; those that shoot for a solo victory, and losers.

On the original topic of this thread, no, my trust is not at all damaged. When I'm playing a game with other people, I expect that they play to win; if that means betrayal, it means betrayal. Games are not real life and events that happen in game should not be responded to as if they happened in real life.
