I spent a few hours assembling a swing set my parents got for my niece and all I can say about it is that she better enjoy it and that whoever designed it should be forced to build one.

No, the set itself was simple, and so were the instructions, but it was so precisely built (full metal too) that every piece, screw and nut had to be positioned perfectly to fit. Millimeter in the wrong direction and the nuts didn’t have enough depth to grip the screws. Fiddly as fuck and impossible to find the correct position by means other than just trial and error.

Next time you make a swing you just pre plan it by planting a tree ten to twenty years before you need it.
