What does Christmas mean to you?

I'm not religious whatsoever, but I observe the holiday anyway. Christmas means a nice, warm living room with my cousins. December is one of the few months I have a soft spot for.

Personally Christmas does not have much of a spiritual meaning for me(which seeing as I am an atheist makes sense.) For me its mainly a time for relaxing, gift giving, and just vibing and hanging out with loved ones.

Christmas Day, 2020

I sit covered in snow, waiting for my target. I have been sent on a mission critical to win the war on Christmas. I am waiting and then I hear it. The bells of Santa´s sled. I fire my rifle hitting the rope connecting Santa´s sled to his reindeer causing it to plummet to the ground. I see Santa through my scope, hes alive, but wounded. I stand up and brandish my side arm walking over to where he is pinned under his sled. He looks up at me as I point my weapon at his head. I say to him

¨Happy Holidays bitch¨ and shoot him in the skull his blood splattering over his sled. I walk away, it is done.

Why did I take the time to write this?

I don't really celebrate it fully because of the differences in religion (I'm a Theravada Buddhist), BUT I do appreciate and love the spirit of gifting and I almost always try to gift something to a friend or a family member. It's been a while since I last do that, though...

With that said, most of the time me and my family would just cook something up specially for this occasion, and just have a family dinner at home. :3

Christmas means a lot to me, as I do a lot of thinking during that time. It’s also 2 weeks of my parents effectively making me fatter, extremely awkward moments with an uncle, and not following a strict sleep schedule.

It means to me spending time with family and loved ones and getting ready to welcome in the new year I'm less on the religious meaning of it but yeh I enjoy spending time and eating good food with people I love. And its perfect for kids that exited feeling you used to get opening up gifts i enjoy seeing the next generation getting excited about it as i used to

Christmas to me is a day to not have to worry about problems in life, everyone shuts off and enjoys life for a day. It is a day for me to check up on distant family. Me as an agnostic does still enjoys the true meaning of Christmas, although I always ask myself if it really is true. I enjoy Christmas and make the most of it, I have always dreamed for an endless winter but around Christmas is the closest thing I will get.

To me Christmas means stress. It means having to come up with a long list of things I "want" defensively so I don't end up getting something I really don't want and then getting guilt-tripped for not getting use out of it , it means having to shop for other people and desperately hoping they like what I get them, and it means terrible music blasted in every store for two whole months.

I used to like Christmas as a kid. I remember waking up early on Christmas morning and running out to the living room, so excited to open my presents and see what I got. It all changed as a teenager; by 16 I'd say I definitely tended more toward the "grinch" end of the scale, and considering I have a December birthday too and am now at the age where I'd rather not celebrate that anymore, December is just the month of depression for me now, especially here in Wisconsin where it's the third-coldest month of the year.
