EU: Brussels cops reportedly bust lockdown gay orgy

It's getting only better:

A senior MEP from Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party admitted Tuesday that he took part in a “lockdown party” — described by local media as “an orgy” — that was broken up by Brussels police.

József Szájer said in a statement that he was “present” at the “private party” — at which, according to the Belgian press, police found 25 naked men, including an MEP and a number of diplomats.

According to a press release from the public prosecutor’s office, “A passer-by reported to the police that he had seen a man fleeing along the gutter; he was able to identify the man. The man’s hands were bloody. It is possible that he may have been injured while fleeing. Narcotics were found in his backpack. The man was unable to produce any identity documents. He was escorted to his place of residence, where he identified himself as S. J. (1961) by means of a diplomatic passport.”

Szájer said police gave him “an official verbal warning” and took him home. He said he had not taken drugs and added that he was “sorry” and that he “deeply” regretted breaking COVID restrictions: “It was irresponsible on my part. I am ready to stand for the fine that occurs.”

The Hungarian, a long-serving member of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s party, resigned as an MEP on Sunday. He said in his statement Tuesday that his “misstep” was “strictly personal” and added, “I ask everyone not to extend it to my homeland, or to my political community.”

An official close to the investigation said officers were called after “a legal complaint for night-time disturbance” was lodged about a “lockdown party” in an apartment on Friday night in the center of Brussels.

Belgium announced a second lockdown last month, with a curfew in place and gatherings of more than four people not allowed.

Szájer is a senior member of Fidesz who helped draft the country’s constitution. He served as head of the Fidesz delegation in the European Parliament and a member of the assembly’s foreign affairs committee.

The Hungarian government has cracked down on LGBTQI rights and last week, along with Poland, voiced strong opposition to a gender equality plan for EU foreign policy that seeks to bolster women’s, girls’ and LGBTQI rights worldwide by “challenging gender norms and stereotypes.”

So what ye say NSG? Should they be punished for breaking Corona restriction and possibly other laws and the likes? Did they had proper testing before and did they maintain social distancing? Frankly I doubt it.

How does this reflect upon Fidesz and Orban and Europe? Specifically in the light of recent anti-LGBT legislation by Fidesz.

I think theres a pattern here, with people like Orbanists who are in denial about various facts. Ranging from the Covid-19 epidemy and ignoring lockdown, and, as it appears, also about their own... preferences.

One law for VIPs. One law for the plebs. Yes, they should all be arrested and charged, but not for being gay, but for breaking lockdown rules.

This shit is happening in LA and NY and Miami too, and they should all be fined and/or given jobs digging covid graves. Fucking hilarious that a Fidesz MEP is getting busted in this one, though.

That has always been the nature of power throughout human history. After all, the concept that all humans are inherently equal is a fairly recent one. Anyway, this is hilarious even if it isn't all that surprising. Unfortunately I doubt there will be much in the way of consequences for this violation.

The 'homophobes are secret gays' meme is inaccurate and sometimes annoying, but it is sometimes correct in the funniest ways.

But really, an orgy doesn't really correlate well with preventing disease spread, so good on them for breaking that up.

The really gross thing is the rich white LA/NY gays who're comparing this sort of thing to the old regime of police stings against gay bars and entrapment of gay men and the like, essentially trying to legitimize anti-mask/anti-lockdown behavior by presenting it as a continuation of some sort of struggle for justice. "Arresting me for going to a circuit party during a pandemic is homophobia!"

Diplomatic immunity will come into play.

Though I put money on some of the Diplomats being from countries where this is illegal.

I don't think Diplomatic immunity protects you from Covid.

Just being arrested and charged for being an asshole about it.

On one hand this is really funny, on the other please stay safe no matter how much you want to have an orgy.

I beg your fucking pardon? An MEP and several diplomats were found at a gay orgy during a pandemic? Am I reading this right? Good on the cops for shutting it down though and those involved should be fined for breaking Covid restrictions.

Viktor Orban is yet another autocrat just like Erdogan, Putin and Vucic. These people all need to be ousted one by one.

This shows the further decline of morals in the world. Politicians are supposed to be setting a good example for citizens in their respective nations. This is quite shocking and behavior you might expect from actors or musicians, not politicians.

However, if everybody consents and is an appropriate age, then it should be legal and nobody should have had their names put in the paper. Privacy should be respected.

Saw this several days ago.

But it's ironic that he is a key ally of Orban, who has been quite retroactive in his policies towards gay people. Just shows that if you dig far enough amongst the homophobes that you'll eventually find that hypocritical gay sex orgy that they enjoy but want to keep secret.

Typing this very slowly as I had surgery on my index finger yesterday, and this hurts, but....

It's even better on the hypocrisy front than you think. This Orban ally boasted about personally drafting the bits in Hungary's new constitution defining marriage as heterosexual only:

In 2011, Szájer boasted that he had drafted Hungary’s new constitution on his iPad, including a clause that explicitly defined marriage as between a man and a woman. He dismissed a question from a journalist who asked how he could refer to it as “a 21st-century constitution” when it did not guarantee LGBT rights.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/ ... ccusations

Mr Szájer is married, incidentally; to a woman.

Though from the same source:

One person who knew Szájer said while the politician never discussed his sexuality, it was considered an “open secret” among Fidesz circles.

I feel a bit jealous that the UK hasn't had anything this juicy in quite a while.

And I hope the full dexterity of your graspers and prodders returns soon.

I dunno if it is better or worse that they are aware of the hypocrisy that they are engaging in.

Dangerous to the careers of anti-gay politicians. Not so much to society.

I was just taking a wide stance.
