I shower in the afternoon, at 5pm. That is usually the time when I go home from college, so naturally I shower to wash off all the filth collected from the day.

I'm a night shower guy. It's a way nicer and more relaxing feeling to shower at the end of the day than it is to get in the shower when you're half awake right out of bed.

Also, I like my water really hot. I know all the dermatologists' advice says not to shower so hot but I don't care, feels good.

If we're going there: everyday, during the morning. Back when I was in Manila, I would also take a shower after coming home from a long day of travel; that Manila was (and still is) Coof Central makes a second shower practically mandatory for me, especially if I've been out the whole day arranging for my move to Bohol and wrangling with the Alphabet Soup of Coof Control.

I know the OP says shower, but of note is that my personal preference, and the SE Asian lifestyle, means that I have little to no experience (and the like) for baths. Sure, they do look relaxing and fun, but the idea of swimming in your own dirt and filth (even with the soap bubbles) is a little weird at least to me.

Thank goodness for hotel rooms with a shower head.

Baths are great for relaxation purposes, but in terms of getting clean quickly they aren't particularly efficient.

The Tampa Bay area of Florida. The water wasn't pleasant to drink but I think it was clean.

The worst water I ever saw was at my cousins' house in upstate New York. I took a shower and the water looked milky.

I shower at night. I'm usually in the shower for about fifteen minutes. Longer, if I just got back from a camping trip. I think the longest I've gone without showering is a week, which would've been at summer camp when I was a kid.

Bathing hydrates the skin, making it easier to get at the gunk and such in creases and pores that showering can miss. However it does leave a film on the skin. The Romans, taking one with another the cleanest and best-smelling people in antiquity, used to sauna, then bathe, then shower, then rub down with oil with grit in it, then scrape off.

Probably dissolved gas, in the process of bubbling out as the pressure is released. It will be gone in a minute.

It's not necessarily harmless though. If it smells of sulphur or natural gas, it should be left to sit for an hour before drinking. Probably a good idea to boil it too.

Four or five people can use the same bath. The rule is the one who is cleanest already, goes first.

I did that as a kid (in a family of four) and a few times later on a commune. It looks gross and be careful not to get the water in your eyes or mouth, but it's rather miraculous how seemingly dirty water will get you quite clean!

The bath on top of a hill is one thing I really miss from the commune. It was an old steel bath, propped up on rocks to leave space underneath. We'd fill it with water (buckets from the tank) and light a fire under it. If that went right, the water would be just right as the fire died down, with coals to keep the bath warm but not to warm. Sitting in the bath with the beautiful view, as one of the other communards would bring a joint to share. No internet, and didn't miss it. Ahh.

I couldn't imagine doing that, being naked in the presence of someone else is something I'm not remotely comfortable with.
