The US should build an Americas Union. That way the world would have three blocks. EU, that new SE Asia and China type of Union, and the Americas union. It would bring competition. Of course, chances are if that happens that sometime in the future these three blocks might get involved in a space war when it comes to annexing whole planets for there own blocks.

The US should not join the EU.

We're two sides of the same coin. But if the US would join the EU, it would dominate all our policies, even more than they already do. It's simple demographics. It's a country of 300+ million, whereas the biggest EU country has something like 80.

We already have plenty of cooperation with them through organisations like OECD

The only good thing that would happen to the US is that it would be a tiny bit more westernised in some areas.
But trust me, the EU sucks. A lot.
I can’t blame the UK for leaving it.

However, if we put the namesake of the EU aside for a moment, I think that would be a positive development, not just for Europe, or the United States, but the world. EU member countries tend to top the charts of human development and it would be nice to see the American variants as part of an interhemispheric supernational structure. There are a variety of opinions here, some pro-EU, some quite euro-skeptic. There are some who believe the U.S to be a force for good in the world, some who disagree. It's also been posed to me that the entry of the United States into the union would establish a trend of American dominance as well. I personally disagree.

All of that noted, I'd like to hear your opinion.

Wouldn't work anyways, as I am sure there are parts of the EU type laws that would most likely conflict with Constitutional law, short of a constitutional convention to adopt those conflicting EU type laws, the US Constitution retains supremacy as the highest law of the land.

Not really my point. The nations of europe are trying to become states of...well the EU.
