Always has been...sadly.
Yugoslavia's back baby...

How the hell did this happen?
Well...we don't actually know. Just sort of happened one day.
Is it a reunited Yugoslavia in the 21st century? Is a rebel colony world in the far future? Is it a race of cyborg neo-life at war with any assimilating organisms they come across in the far far future? Who knows, who cares?
New Yugoslavia just is.

I totally support an even wider free trade agreement. It would be the first step to a global free trade bloc and the abolition of cash in favor of digital credit which is far easier to transfer than wads of paper and metal.

Yeah, and you (general, not you, TNCR specifically) probably shouldn't marry your cousins.

We're two sides of the same coin. But if the US would join the EU, it would dominate all our policies, even more than they already do. It's simple demographics. It's a country of 300+ million, whereas the biggest EU country has something like 80.

We already have plenty of cooperation with them through organisations like OECD

Canada can join though :p

The EU has a population of 447 million though.

That’s the entire EU collectively, America is one country

But trust me, the EU sucks. A lot.
I can’t blame the UK for leaving it.

It's actually not good to be outside of the EU.
But I digress.

The farther away from the EU a country is, the better. The EU is a hellhole.

However, if we put the namesake of the EU aside for a moment, I think that would be a positive development, not just for Europe, or the United States, but the world. EU member countries tend to top the charts of human development and it would be nice to see the American variants as part of an interhemispheric supernational structure. There are a variety of opinions here, some pro-EU, some quite euro-skeptic. There are some who believe the U.S to be a force for good in the world, some who disagree. It's also been posed to me that the entry of the United States into the union would establish a trend of American dominance as well. I personally disagree.

All of that noted, I'd like to hear your opinion.

Why bother? Europe (with the EU) is doing an adequate job of emulating the US as is.

Wouldn't work anyways, as I am sure there are parts of the EU type laws that would most likely conflict with Constitutional law, short of a constitutional convention to adopt those conflicting EU type laws, the US Constitution retains supremacy as the highest law of the land.
