I...don't even know the political ramifications of that. One side of me feels like the GOP would be slaughtered for trying to do that, but the rational side of me knows it would allow them to paint the Dems as "weak." Thus, allowing them to win big in 2022. *sighs*

Able to rig an entire election, unable to pick a Cabinet member, nobody gets sick of the double-speak, god love it.

Id like to think they would be crushed for that but in this country I doubt it. People believe lie after lie. I wouldnt even put it past Republicans to refuse to even allow a budget vote causing a months long government shutdown.

The republicans majority is only going to be 1. You only need one republican to vote for the nominees and the VP breaks the tie

are you that sure Warnock will win? McConnell could also prevent a vote like he did with Garland.

And that's assuming nothing changes in the runoff election.

Warnock has a very good chance of winning, he already has a 8 point lead right now but combine that with the 6 other Democrats who ran for Senate he'd be over 51% of the vote.

Hopefully Democrats get both. A tied Senate would mean McConnell can't block everything.

I desperately hope his admin will try to continue dialogue with the DPRK as well because the era of sanctions and all that other shit has clearly failed.

I would have to agree here. That along with the talks of a student loan forgiveness plan and Bidens talk of putting together a Covid response team to create an actual Covid response does give me some hope for the beginning of his presidency. Its definitely already looking better than Trumps nonsense imo.

What happens if a member of the Senate is nominated? Do they get to vote to approve their own nomination?

I guess it comes down to whether Georgians think partisan power distribution or a functional federal government are more important.

Thats not true; 538 did the math, if every vote that went blue went to Warnock, he would have only had about 48%

Forgive me for not being able to keep up with 538, I simply added up all of the averages each Democrat Candidate got on RCP and came to 51% which I still think is true. Could you give me the link to this article?

That's understandable, I believe State Polling is more accurate over National Polling.

Keith Olbermann lays out a great editorial for why Trump's election fraud claims will go absolutely nowhere.

Even if they did, the amount of votes Trump includes in each lawsuit still wouldn't change the outcome of the election.
