Yes, not as bad as the other guy, but still bad.

That title IX stuff is hilariously stupid. 3) though doesn't really amount to anything when it's just some personal experience she is noting. One would hope that for those kind of claims they'd have some actual data to back it up. I'm sure it's not far from the truth, but your source does not claim that statistically students of colour, or those with disabilities, were disproportionately impacted.

We don't really have comprehensive statistics. What we do have is bleak however.

https://www.realcleareducation.com/arti ... 10308.html

Colgate University was recently investigated by the Office for Civil Rights for potential race discrimination, a Title VI violation, in its sexual-assault adjudication process. The university was cleared in April, on the grounds that the numbers did not allow OCR to conclude that race was a statistically significant factor in Colgate’s adjudications—in any given year the number of men of any race referred for formal hearings was in the single digits. (The investigation does not appear to have examined any individual cases or otherwise reach beyond this statistical analysis.) But the report did bring those statistics to light, a rarity. In the 2013–14 academic year, 4.2 percent of Colgate’s students were black. According to the university’s records, in that year black male students were accused of 50 percent of the sexual violations reported to the university, and they made up 40 percent of the students formally adjudicated.

During the three academic years from 2012–13 to 2014–15, black students were accused of 25 percent of the sexual misconduct reported to the university, and made up 21 percent of the students referred for formal hearings. Fifteen percent of the students found responsible for assault in those years were black. During that same three-year period, Asian students, who constituted a little more than 3 percent of Colgate’s student body in 2013, were more than 13 percent of the accused, 21 percent of those referred for hearings, and 23 percent of those found responsible. (The rest were white; no Hispanic students were accused.)
Venicilian: wow. Jesus hung around with everyone. boys, girls, rich, poor(mostly), sick, healthy, etc. in fact, i bet he even went up to gay people and tried to heal them so they would be straight.
The Parkus Empire: Being serious on NSG is like wearing a suit to a nude beach.
New Kereptica: Since power is changed energy over time, an increase in power would mean, in this case, an increase in energy. As energy is equivalent to mass and the density of the government is static, the volume of the government must increase.

Well.....true.....Carter took a two year break and Reagan took a six year break. Polk was another one. I had to look it up...he took a four year break.

I wonder where the Democrats will go after this, common consensus in the party seems to be the progressive wing caused the massive losses in the House, whether or not that true is up for debate

Since we don't have local elections thread for next year yet I figured id share this here. Big news out of Seattle.

Incumbent mayor Jenny Durkan won't seek a second term. The race to succeed her is now wide open.

It seems to pretty consistently hold true. Moderate and conservative Dems were the big winners in 2018 too iirc. Someone here on NS sent me a list of progressive Dems who won but they were all in deep blue districts, one got over 80% of the vote even, so it seems like outside of those regions they just can't perform well.

Dozens of protesters surrounded the home of Michigan’s Secretary of State demeaning an audit of the election and claiming it was stolen. I very much fear one of Trumps supporters is going to injure or kill someone.

Don’t worry. We aren’t antifa

yeah let's just forget this is the same state where trump supporters earlier this year planned to kidnap and murder the governor

Casual reminder that casting that incident as solely "Trump supporters" is inaccurate at best and maliciously false at worst. The original ringleader of the kidnapping group was a left leaning anarchist who thought Whitmer was a Fash, he then reached out to the militia for help in the plot because they also thought she was a Fash for all the restrictions put in place.

When centrist dems win it's proof that the centrist wing is good at politics, when centrist dems lose it's proof that the progressive wing is bad at politics?

In a way. Their rhetoric, whether rightly or wrongly, is very high profile and is attached to all members of the party even if individual candidates don't follow those things.

Ultimately it all means that the US is, as many on the right claim, a centre-right nation. More specifically, we're a Libertarian nation with a long and deep distrust of government and taxes, which is why, even when lots of people support progressive ideas, they turn right around when you start mentioning how much in taxes would be needed to fund them.

Trump? Probably never. He’s a textbook narcissist. His lawyers? Apparently sooner than we expect. Perhaps as soon as this week with safe harbor date happening tomorrow and all cases continuing to be dismissed.

So basically America as a whole, in 2020, is a right wing country. Interesting

it's not actually true that progressives can't take seats outside of their heartland, but until this election, that wasn't the campaign strategy of the progressive wing, so they didn't have any sort of infrastructure outside of the large cities.
add that to being cut off from DNC funds and being blacklisted from most consulting firms, and all of a sudden, the battle that progressives have to fight becomes a lot more unbalanced
