It's been a bipartisan tactic since the US was founded and it's existed long before them. The point is, it's not their medicine.

Probably not in all likelihood. Most likely just another way for the Trump admin to muddy the waters of the election results even more.

Depends on the meaning of 'anything', will they be successful in uncovering fraud? Of course not. Will they continue to undermine faith in the election among supporters, I guess so. Does it delay the transition and put America at risk. Sure.

It's quite amazing to see a party wilfully weaken the US based on zero evidence.

The difference is there is an argument to be made that winning an election without the popular votes does make one less legitimate, in a moral sense.

Here, your side is just being petty for the sake of it.

No. The states will drag their heels until the 21st, at which point Biden will replace barr, and it will disappear, along with the investigation into his sons activities, the justice departments admission of misconduct /r the investigations of trump officials, and the federal prosecutions of rioters.

Anyway, the Democrats blocked nothing, they didn't have the Senate. The courts blocked more than the Democrats in overturning EOs.

Since there was nothing Trump could do to get back at a dying man, Senate Republicans should be glad he didn't turn on them.

Such is the danger of riding a personality cult for votes I guess.

It's mildly amusing that some of the Trumpists list why six of the SCOTUS have been wronged by Biden, and this is their chance to get revenge on him. They have very little faith in their SCOTUS if they think a personal score would make them decide a case against the law.

I do remember in the '08 election one of his supporters came up to him saying how Obama was a muslim commie, and he gently chided her and said 'No ma'am, that's not actually true'.

That would never happen in today's environment.

One would hope they drop the smear on Hunter Biden before then, but with Trump still at the helm likely not.

Biden's gonna have the clean house of all the Trumpists in the system. Particularly in places like Education and Environment where Trump was letting Dracula run the blood bank.

It doesn't delay the transition. The new president doesn't have to wait for the old one to concede. The term ends December 21st regardless, and that's specifically so there is time to hash all this stuff out.

I don't know, Brett Kavanaugh told the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee, "What goes around comes around." Clarence Thomas has been sulking about the "high tech lynching" Biden visited on him during his confirmation hearings. So, who knows?

The time is usually for a smooth transition, instead of giving the loser 2 months to be a baby about the process. Not that some of the wackier examples of Trump's supporters care much about the foundations of their democracy, in general.

For the sake of fairness, Reps having the Senate didn't give them power to pass their legislation, once they lost the House.

Some posters here, including San Lumen I think, laughed at the suggestion Democrats could overcome geographic and gerrymander barriers and win the House in '18. But they did it, with a nice margin to boot.

Emboldened by that, I will now say it will be VERY DIFFICULT for Democrats to hold the House in '22. Just waiting and hoping to advance a couple of seats in the Senate, would be a disastrous thing if instead they lose the House.

Your reminder that two days ago, Donald Trump held a press conference outside of a landscaping business that is located between a porn shop and a crematorium in the sketchy part of Philly, and now said landscaping business is cashing in on the newfound fame.

It's already delayed since the Office of General Administration hasn't signed the letter providing the president access and funds to conduct the election. Don't count on this president to not deny the norms and disrupt everything to whatever extent he can.

Would either of them risk the integrity of their position to settle a score, though? That would be inviting court stacking (with popular support even, perhaps) in just a few years time.

One might argue his selection of Sarah Palin, her baseless claims and appeal to the lowest common denominator, kicked this whole movement off that led to Trump.

As I remember he wanted someone else, can't remember the name, practically a Democrat but the party made him take Palin.

EDIT: Lieberman?
