I'd like to link Ben's take on the election but that would be a bad idea

Abolitionism in the North has leagued itself with Radical Democracy, and so the Slave Power was forced to ally itself with the Money Power; that is the great fact of the age.

I was a wildland firefighter in 2016 and I lived in Paradise. Can confirm we did not rake the forest. You can blame the fire on me.

On the flip side, why should rural voters have a disproportionate amount of power in choosing who runs the executive, as compared to city voters?
Flipping the side again... when the urban demographic are accustomed to majority popular vote privileges, equality in political voice feels like oppression.

Its not if the other person won more states. It's bad enough that New York for example, is solid red but almost always appears solid blue because of solely NYC. The popular vote is used at the more local level, so that should be sufficient.

Why should California's residents decide the outcome for the entire country? The EC is supposed to be a compromise between accepting simple majorities as counted whilst still allowing for the possibility that enough other states can win out despite having fewer people.
Maybe California should split itself into 68 states with the population of Wyoming, each with 3 EVs and 2 senators?
