A lot of freshmen Dem Reps from flipped districts in 2018 lost their seats to Republican challengers.

Thats a shame. Maybe Dems can defy history and gain seats in 2022.

Given how this is the same party that basically let "Never Trump" Republicans soak up a bunch of money, resources and attention on their behalf, I think this is a product of incompetence and lack of self-awareness stemming from ideology. The Democratic leadership has been so consumed by a sincere belief in its own ideology (with all of its insider politics and pandering to corporate and conservative interests), that they are incapable of recognizing how obviously bad all of those actions were.

It certainly does seem as if the electorate is punishing the Democratic establishment for its refusal to keep up with the times, at least to some extent. Now, as to whether or not they'll wise up in time for the 2022 midterms, that is a different story.

Hoping that the more sane elements of the GOP start standing up to Trump's insanity.

They don't really need him anymore. They most likely control the Senate and have a highly conservative Supreme Court. Trump can also come back in 2024, assuming he doesn't flame out horribly during these next weeks.

Oh yeah, they're blaming progressives for the 11 house seats lost.

That might be a mistake considering who owns the fields. Let's leave that for the second term after the purge of the Kulaks.

The Senate will be 49:48 at the start of the session

The Dems will only have a 2-seat majority in the House

No. Not even close.

OANN is a different gig.

It's close to QAnon tier of weirdness. It's very strange and theres probably connections to moonies. Their staff looks a bit too happy. It kinda creepy.

They went too far to the social justice side of things. They alienated their moderate voters quite a bit.

Besides why did so many donate to Never Trump republicans anyway? Lincoln Project is far better

...The Lincoln Project was the biggest example of political grift in modern american electoralism, and it failed at its job.
