It seems as though it is difficult to ascertain what is true and what isn't in the remote province.

It was the same thing in Artsakh for a while.

I guess this is just how wars go these days, it's as much an informational war as it is a properly fought one.

If it weren’t for COVID, I’d visit my uncle’s family in Germany. The wife is Ethiopian and the kids are Kuwaiti born but identify with both Ghana AND Ethiopia (I think the kids are Orthodox and the mom doesn’t eat pork.)
This is all a very long way of saying that I would have probably asked her if she knew anything about what was going on there.

Allegedly. There are reports of rockets being fired at Eritrea from Mekkele, which while they could be by Ethiopian forces, it’s like 99% TPLF fighters, especially since they already admitted to doing that earlier in this conflict.
