The Modern Whig Party had a distinct platform from the Whig Party and existed over a hundred years later.

The liberatarians won a state legislative seat in Wyoming.

Focusing on more local elections would serve third parties well in the short-term. They can build a base of support from there.

Only the Democrats and Republicans are significant in the United States and they're both right-wing parties. Most of the third parties are right-wing too.

You need corporate money to advance, an even if a corporation did support them for whatever reason there's no way they could change anything.

They got those 2 seats by building juuuust enough of a platform that they managed to get into 2 city councils and change nothing.
