Oh man, I should have been watching PBS this entire time. It's like a warm bath. Even the mouthpieces they've checked in with have been that calm monotone. There hasn't been a single cut away where they're 'monitoring' a situation, no Trump surrogate spending 2/3rds of the interview throwing shade on the interviewer. This is the tonic I needed.

All of the 100% counted counties in the Midwest (mainly Indiana and Ohio) are strongly up for Trump in rural areas, even up to 15% higher.

Boone County, Illinois, with 75% of counted votes, is 83.1% Trump.

Trump only got it by 53.4% in 2016.

I think I can confidently call Midwest as going Trump right now, minus Penn. and including Minnesota flip.

Biden will take Illinois. You're forgetting about Chicago.

I'm not remotely predicting Trump taking Illinois, just saying that rural counties in the Midwest are **strongly** going up for Trump in double digit vote share gains.

Illinois rural counties are of course in the Midwest, and are a good indicator of what can happen in Wisconsin just a few miles north.

I know it's going to switch red but Kansas in the blue right now is making me laugh a little at the idea Trump makes it everywhere he has to except he loses Kansas and thus the EC.. that would pretty much sum up the year for me.

Having said that my one stated worry was that new voters, who aren't particularly captured in polls were strongly in favour of Trump. I don't know if there's been any assessment or polling of new voters as to which way they lean.

Seems it won't be the blue wash I was hoping for, hopefully it remains a blue rinse.

Ha! Yeah, Biden losing Illinois is impossible. Although how horribly Chicago is run is perhaps a sign that they need a change of leadership.

I don’t think Biden winning Ohio is ‘massive’ per say because tbf he can win any one true battleground state and it becomes almost impossible for Trump to win. California and New York are such a massive portion of the electorate (and thank god for that electorate, or they’d run the country), that it’s hard for republicans to win.

A blue washout was unlikely overall. Though a blue lead outcome of course is possible.
