The unfortunate truth blocked the shortest path to the money pile, so it needed to be aggressively swept under the rug and stomped on.

I dunno, opposition nuclear power seems kinda retarded.
Well I want a range of new-technology reactors built, at a loss (implying government subsidies or partnerships), since whichever is best in practice will be the prototype for a whole new fleet to be mass-manufactured. But the ones that are second best will be decommissioned. Each new reactor being architect-designed and subtly different from those before, is a bad model cost-wise.
I'm still suspicious of why TEL is in favor of fission reactors though. I see them as a trade-off between nuclear waste (bad) and almost zero-emissions power, dispatchable (good). But if TEL doesn't give a rat's arse about carbon emissions it follows that It just likes the fact that reactors produce highly dangerous waste (albeit in small amounts) which presumably can be sold on the open market to home experimenters wishing to build their own dirty bombs ...

A.) I was raised in the shadow of a nuclear reactor and know it's perfectly safe.
B.) I thus find people's paranoia about it laughable and stupid.
C.) Lots of cheap energy and we get to shut the climate people up about Carbon Emissions.

Imagine talking about people concerned about the climate changing like they're an annoyance. I'm not against nuclear power but calling them the climate people is like calling the guy yelling that a kid is drowning "the aquaphobia guy."

I suppose it's just a lesson in not making broad assumptions.
Although my disdain for large private corporations is in line with my Distributist outlook.

You want some sort of retribution go after Amazon, Google and all the other multi national corporations. Why don't climate activists do that instead, they're smart kids.
