Should the republic of Texas exist

Texas, Annexed by the United States in 1845(taking affect in 1846) in recent times has had a desire for independence among a Group of people, who may in fact be the majority of Texas voters. Personally, I think it should be independent and This group should be the government of the Republic of Texas(Note: this group is not the same as the Group that held people hostage in the 1990s). However there are many other groups, some are terroristic groups, some are political parties and same are groups that sit around writing letters to State Officials(which is the one I linked above).

Here is some more links to more groups

No, in fact quite a bit of it should be given back to Mexico.

Texas needs to be independent just as much as California needs to be - that is to say, not at all.

The current borders and political status of Texas should remain, more or less.

Most certainly not.

Sure, but I imagine it would go poorly with Mexico. I have no problems letting them self-govern unless they take it waaaaaay too far.

As for giving it back to mexico, while I see why you'd want that, I disagree.

Why not? It could join up with the 10 Mexican states threatening to secede and form the Republic of Tex-Mex...

You can either have the State of Texas or el Estado Libre y Soberano de Coahuila y Tejas, pick one

Yes. But only if Jeb and George are president and vice president.

What an illustration of "you get the government you deserve" that would be. I'm guessing Texas would make plans for an offensive war against Connecticut after somebody from Utah let their dog soil the sidewalk in Fort Worth.

Mexicans are taking it back as a Mexican-American co-worker from Texas once told me. Soon, Texas will be majority Hispanic.

I guess they'll get that wall, without even having to pay for it, too!

Ba-dum-tish.

I am fine with Texas going back to Mexico if they also take California with them before California totally ruins the USA.

I don’t think so, but I’m not from America, so what do I know.

No, I'd rather not have my home be reannexed by Mexico.

Divide Texas into four quadrants of equal population and let them duke it out. Whoever wins gets to rule the newly unified state like an Absolute Monarch. I'd put my money on West Texas, personally.

No, as among other reasons not even Mexico wants to be part of Mexico now.

1. What do I say next? Should I expand on my own opinion? Ask you to expand on yours? Should I just say "yes it should" and see if you and I can waste a whole page that way?

2. The only relevance I can see is that the NFAC has the word "fucking" in the title and you find that funny.

Fragmenting the US in any way will only benefit its enemies. No good will come from states seceding, whether said state is California, Texas or Hawaii.

While I think the chances of this actually happening are vanishingly remote, it would be a great historical irony if Texas, which achieved separation from Mexico and its subsequent annexation to the United States on the basis of white American migration from the United States into Texas, were to subsequently be reunited to Mexico on the basis of Hispanic migration from Mexico to Texas leading to a majority of Texans supporting separation from the United States.

Again, the chances of this happening are vanishingly remote; though stranger things have happened historically.
