Then one would have to go take a shower for defending the goddamn Tories.

Reagan’s sunny, inclusive vision and principles are the antithesis of what Trump preaches

Sean O'Keefe Trump and the RNC abandoned the Republican platform and the legacy of Ronald Reagan

The absence of principles is what drove me and dozens of other national security officials who served in Republican administrations to back Joe Biden.

Apparently opposing the Civil Rights Act, opposing the Voting Rights Act, being against fair housing legislation, and fighting like a tiger at every turn against equality for racial and sexual minorities is having "principles" and being "inclusive."

Edit: Oh and I almost forgot, don't forget he called African diplomats "Those monkeys from those African countries."

Seems you're only picking and choosing to criticize Republicans for admiring Reagan while ignoring Democrats who are happy to give a platform to this historical revisionism to own Trump epic style.

While it's undeniable that what the tories are doing is morally corrupt and evil, at least from my perspective from a moderately conservative, tory-voting lower-middle class background, I'm going to pull the not all [group] card out from my rear and apply it to tories. For example, many people I know voted tory in the 2019 election because of their forerunning policies, particularly the brexit one. I doubt they'll all be on board with this policy.

Yes, I defended the tories. What about it?

Do you think as a lower-middle class tory voter you might not really appreciate how the poorest in society struggle to feed their kids?

This isn't about brexit, this is about the economy and the economy in principle. British society is slowly beginning to become more economically polarised, which is evident in how perplexed I am at your willingness to defend such actions. You can't even say recently they've behaved badly.

That's where we're at. Nothing matters but brexit, god I loved it when 10 years ago it wasn't even an issue (I'm not a remainer so don't bother).

Well one involves actively disliking and probably wishing harm upon the other, while mere disagreement can be entirely different.

I don't hate Conservatives, and I think most of them actively desire to build a better world and honestly believe their path forward is the best way to go. I disagree on said path, and some of the destination, but I don't think they're bad people for their opinions, nor bad intentioned.

Some ideologies are evil, though, and I do more than just disagree with those. Those I -do- hate.

Ouchh. But this is really what people’s knee-jerk reactions are when they hear about certain political parties for the first time lol. It’s not always fair though and people should have more tempered stances (or carefully substantiated ones) than that

4. lol. Biden admitted what he did in the past was wrong and has become one of the most progressive Dems over the past 20 years.

Okay? And what does this have to do with Democrats idolizing Ronald Reagan to own Trump?

Well usually facts are true, what you've said might be more accurately characterized as a "lie," "historical revisionism," or "bullshit" than as a fact, due to it not actually being true.

Biden only supported marriage equality in 2012, and he voted for the so-called "Defense of Marriage Act."
John Kerry (the 2004 nominee) supported equality a year earlier, Senator Russ Feingold supported marriage equality in 2006, Senator Barbara Boxer in 2010, and Senator Chuck Robb in 2000, and all four of them voted against DoMA.

It takes an incredible level of historical revisionist nonsense to look at this and come to the conclusion that Biden "was the first US politician in history to open and officially support LGBT rights and freedoms."
