Should the State of Jefferson Exist?

This is such a controversy as Oregon and California have a movement called the State of Jefferson that looks to unify Northern California and CEntrel+Southern+Eastern Oregon into one Conservative State.

I personally think its a horrid idea.

I'm not American but personally I can understand as to why more conservative rural areas might want to succeed from Cali, especially it's high gas taxes and strict gun control.

This is actually a great idea because it removes a bunch of conservative states from the EC and Senate, thus giving more control to the Dems.

As with any states that are adjacent and have low population, being Bigger would be better. EXCEPT that merging states gives up Senators.

TL;DR: Jefferson is a state idea in the general geographic region of Northern California and East Oregon/Washington give or take that isn't happy that the West Coast is mostly Liberal/Progressive instead of the Racist and Conservative stronghold (Mostly Oregon and Washington) that it used to be.

Do we have any stats on what the economy of such a thing would be like? All that I can really see from some quick searching is that the overwhelming majority of the economy would be agrarian, sparsely populated etc.
