Did you ever ask them what they think about Saudi, Iranian, Turkish etc governments.

The only ones I've ever talked to about it don't like Saudi Arabia, but that's because they were, respectively, two women and a Shi'ite. The Shi'ite one likes Iran, though. No clue on Turkey, I doubt any of them care.

That said, I once also had class with a Saudi girl who went out of her way to defend her government on every possible occasion. And from what my Shi'ite friend has told me, the majority of Saudis he's talked to either support the government to some degree or other (whether firm or tacit) or don't really care much one way or the other.

I mean, they literally are, though. Drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, and eating pork are pretty fucking non-Muslim things to do.

And getting a divorce is explicitly against the bible, but a large number of Christians get a divorce as well.

Yeah, and they're worse Christians than the people not getting divorced--not that I oppose that, I'll take a casual over a fundamentalist any day of the week. I didn't say my friends weren't Muslim; the comment I responded to was, "they're no more or less Muslim..." which is a factually incorrect statement (assuming we're equating being "less Muslim" with being worse at following is Islamic practices than someone who's "more Muslim"--which I don't see why we wouldn't, considering that's pretty much the only way the term makes sense in the first place).

Just to make this even funnier, Turkish Lira hit a record low after putting a boycott on France. And this is before France retaliating lmao.

That’s not very accurate. Much of Trump’s base is upper class businesspeople, that demographic tends to be Kemalist in Turkey. Erdogan’s base is poor Anatolian farmers

While many upperclass businessmen do support Trump, that is by no means "much" of his base lmao.

It's as if Erdogan's govt want to destroy Turkey on purpose. One bad decision after another. Not only do they harm their economy, they make sure relations with France will remain sour for many years to come.

There aren't any Saudis in my area for some reason. All the Arabs here are Iraqi, Syrian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Jordanian, Egyptian, Tunisian, Algerian or Yemenite for some reason.

Saudis don’t immigrate to the US often. Some rich ones go to the UK.

Accelerationism. Crater the economy, blame foreigners for it and get support for the new Turkish war of aggression against everyone and everything.

The one that comes right before Turkey is handed a loss as bad as the one Germany suffered in world War II.

Trump heavily draws support from white people who make less than $50,000 a year and only have a highschool diploma. So like West Virginia, not New York.

Seems like things have been escalating between France and the Middle East since those comics were published and that teacher was murdered for showing them in class.

Anyway, I’m gonna have to side with France on this one.
