Except that does not necessarily appear to be the case here, as many seem to be perfectly happy to go along with this BS, calling to boycott France while happily buying products made by Muslim slaves in the PRC.

The hypocrisy is hardly exclusive to the leadership. Much of the population is just as willingly to go along with this hypocrisy.

These tactics to stay in power only work if most of the people fall for them. And given they are working...

The term boycott is undeniably becoming overused in the modern world and certainly demonstrates a sense of ignorance. Don't you agree that boycotting just for sake of revolt not only delays the resolve, but also hurt the sentiments of proper diplomacy.
Please correct me if required.

Not really. For example, where I live, there are many calls to boycott Chinese goods. In the Middle East, there have been protests in support of the Uighurs. But many of these governments are dictatorships intent on filling their pockets. Additionally, especially in the Muslim world, boycotting all Chinese goods is impossible.

That's the policy of most groups who claim to be activists and who claim to fight for JUSTICE!!!!

They always love to ignore the crimes of the PRC because they actually need the items they produce.

Alas France is a lot less likely to do something to hit back that would cause people to starve, whereas the CCP would have no problem twisting its heel on the neck of less wealthy nations just to make a point.

It is not everyone selling out true, but it is a very large number. There are exceptions, sure. But those calls for boycotts against the PRC or protests against its actions are few and have gone nowhere. But the protests against the cartoons and France have been far larger.
Obviously not all the people have sold out. But many if not most have.

If it makes you feel any better the majority of non Muslims are often no better. Our entire global order is utterly hypocritical and morally bankrupt. Driven by slavery and oppression while so many people support more oppression because their feelings were hurt.

Each day I become more pessimistic.

More want than knee in most cases. But otherwise sure.
People are protesting and boycotting France having freedom of speech while ignoring the PRC’s actions. It is pathetic.

From what I’ve gathered, there are many Islamic fundies who hate the KSA because they follow Hanbali Wahhabism, not because they’re radical. That’s like a Catholic fundamentalist opposing Evangelical fundamentalists not because they’re fundamentalists, but because they follow a rival school/church

Most Muslims I've spoken to about Saudi Arabia don't like that it's run basically by a dictator who executes people in the streets and supports terrorists.

Yes, but I expect you to know about the infighting among the schools of "Sunni" Islam no? Being a West African Muslim, I assume your family follows the Maliki school?

If we're going to go with simplistic responses like this then I'd go with "It's good that the middle East is standing up to Western imperialism"

Yes because as well all know a country refusing to bow to other nation's pressure in matters of domestic policy is 'imperialism'.

Most the stuff France sells here is high end fashion, yachts and military weapons, nuclear technology and trains.
Not really stuff you probably can buy much of.

Some of their wine is no so expensive. But usually the cheaper wine sold here is US made.

Just go to a Senegalese store. They usually have a French stuff. Yes, I WANT you to buy French stuff! This boycott is a political ploy that will do nothing to help Muslims, it’s just so “Muslim” leaders can save face for already being in hot water for ignoring the Uyghurs and betraying the Palestinians
