In that case you would also probably want to show those evidences to a trustable ally first, probably an aspiring liberal politician or a media figure, so someone can publicly speak on your behalf in a coordinated manner.

You don't have such concerns nearly to as much of an extent, if you're working for the Federal government as opposed to anything at the state/local level.

As for this scenario, I'd keep quiet because all making it known is going to do; is get me pushed out of that career- like that cop in Baltimore. I value job security more than anything else. I'm not going to jeopardize good and stable income.

Besides, I identify as a neo-Nazi and don't view some violence as a big deal, provided the person involved isn't injured so much that they might die or have to go to the hospital. Not because I care about them per say, but because I believe it'd be more hassle to let anything tarnish the reputation of the department in terms of allowing for rumors to form or spread or for there to be any risks for a scandal.

If anything, I'd intervene as much as I can; but without effecting any coworkers. More of a "you knuckleheads, we have a good thing going here. Lets not forget the bigger picture here" and ideally they'll hand them over to me and I can make it appear that I'm punishing them but in reality- I'm sending them home if they can be let go.

I'd aspire to be like a slightly nicer version of Will Teasle, in the first Rambo movie he did his role as Sheriff well all things considered. The only major flaw was that he found problems where none existed and it'd have been far easier to ignore or result in less escalation. I don't think I'd care too much about a homeless veteran dressed the wrong way passing through town, provided they're there for only a day or so before going away.

There is a difference between caring about stuff and pointless self flagellation. It is very clear to anyone with two brain cells to rub together that in this scenario there is no way I can actually change anything. At best I'll get told to shut up and at worst I'll get destroyed or god knows what. And what will that achieve? Nothing. The best thing to do in such situations is to do your best not to do any harm your self and try to fly under the radar.

I would inform my superiors but the corrupt police officers band together and then plant drugs in my house and I'm thrown out in disgrace. I become a bail collector, hunting down those who escape bail on behalf of various seedy people. I'm tasked to find a guy who ripped off the mob and I do so, but unknowingly my boss has assigned someone else just to be sure. The mob finance guy refuses to fly so I have to find various means to get him across the country before the other guy gets me, the FBI are on my tail and the mob are trying to do a hit job.

In a final scene at the airport it all comes together and the FBI arrest the mobsters and the other guy gets knocked out cold.

I learn a little about faith in humanity, maybe reconcile with my estranged family.
