Okay, now I'm tempted to start up a toon on a brand new server and create a guild named ModSquad to invite all you guys.

Oh wait. I'm not a Mod. Well, dammit.

I played WoW for a week. I didn't like it's complexity.

But I couldn't actually be a member of the guild. It would be a sham! A mockery!

And being on different servers isn't a big deal. I could telegram each of you with the new server name and invite you there. It's not like we're restricted to playing on only one server.

How was it complex? I found it too simple for my taste.

I suppose it's all about how in-depth you wanna get with it.

It's like this League of Legends game I'm playing nowadays; if you just want to play, you buy the recommended items, click four different buttons, and that's the end of it. However, there's a level of strategy beyond that in pushing lanes, rune and mastery allocation, etc etc. So if one wanted to max their potential, it involves far more than just playing.

Warcraft is similar; if you just wanna pick it up and play, you can. But if you want to get into maximizing DPS, doing the high end content and whatnot it takes a degree of involvement...and coordination between people...that's a bit more complex than most people care for.

I'll admit, I like the easy part of the game, and haven't raided seriously since Molten Core.

I really got into it last spring and summer, raiding Naxx and Ulduar as a priest on Eonar-EU. Had to give it up for uni just as Trial of the Crusader was coming out. I intend to level a rogue this summer for use in Cataclysm later this year.

I started playing WoW about a week after it came out and stopped a few months after BC. I was a resto/elemental Orc Shaman.

My favorite memories involve world PvP, such as a 10 minute battle with a Paladin in STV where I kited him through half the zone before finally backing up into a hill and dying.

That, and having to main tank ZF because we couldn't find a real tank.

Shit I got addicted to that Runescape game when I was 10. Played on for six years. Evil games they are.

I tried World of Warcraft, I never got interested in it for some reason, played for like 2 months then quit.

I played Runescape for a while when I was 12, and tried WoW for like a week. Then I got Halo 2 for my birthday and found out how gay MMORPGs are. Not that I don't like RPGs, I really like KOTOR and KOTOR 2.
Playing NS since Jan of 2006

Most of my toons are on Earthen Ring, Alliance side, with Cogitation. My main is a resto/balance druid (resto main spec, balance off-spec), but I've got quite a few other 80's. I'm also re-rolling on Eredar (Horde) to play with a friend of mine.

I keep thinking about trying it, but I barely have time for my regular life plus current diversions (like NS). Maybe sometime.

WoW didn't eat my life, but definitely took a bit of my time.

Eventually I got frustrated with Blizzard's complete inability to balance the game and quit, one level below the level 80 cap in Wrath of the Lich Kind.

There are certain people that play WoW...

And due to the fact thatI don't like the way the game plays and the way it looks I don't play it.

I play EVE ;)

I play a free ripoff of WoW. I'm just not willing to pay money for games, or anything, really.

What free ripoff?

Runes of Magic, maybe not an exact ripoff, but rather similar to WoW.

Edit: corrected my idiocy.

I agree. It's "free", though. I find that quailty very hard to resist.
