I wouldn't want to be a child again. Being an adult gives you so many more experiences to live, such a greater understanding of the world. It brings so many new memories and opportunities, and I wouldn't want to give them up.

I wouldn't mind re-experiencing ages 18-21 again, with a chance to do new things and make new memories. But not in some horrendous Groundhog Day loop with all my memories erased. Just once, and keeping the memories I have.

Your memories are part of what makes you you.

I don't want to be disappointed again. I had low expectations for adulthood and even those weren't met.

A thousand times, azur. I despised being a child. I counted the days waiting for it to end! There's just nothing good about childhood. You get no respect, have no legal power, have no literal power either because adults are so much bigger, you're forced to spend countless hours doing what you don't want to (school) for $0.00, you're bored out of your mind half of the rest of the time, and you even have to argue about how long you stay up instead of just doing it like a proper human. It's all horrifically dehumanizing, frustrating, and aggravating.

AZUR.

And yet, as a child, you enjoy so many things an adult cannot. Someone telling you "everything will be alright." Someone who comforts you when you fall, or when there's lightning, or have a bad dream. As a child, you don't need to think about anything, just being a child.

I wish had cherished those moments more.

Except many people are not ready for that. Forcing that is inorganic, it is like telling an apple to ripen before it is ready. And as much as I respect Che, I do not believe his quote applies to children.

Does Nozomi specify *where* the childhood takes place ? I would not like to be an Indian orphan or Somali pirate.

Being a child forever would suck. Like, seriously. No sex, no alcohol, people are constantly treating you like you know nothing and aren't smart, actually knowing nothing and being dumb, etc. Forget it.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

I'd choose pink because growing old and senile is horrible. Constantly being a child is not the best thing, but at least it comes with the benefits of living in a perpetually growing, yet young body and mind.

The Rich Port wrote:Honestly, while my childhood was fun and nice... I am also grateful for the things that I have learned. I find "innocence" contemptible, as it's really no different from ignorance. If you are "innocent" to the world, you do not have the agency and the knowledge that problems even exist, and that you therefore have no power to do anything about it, and that, IMO, is far more terrifying and heartbreaking than any loss of innocence we have to endure.

At the same time, sure, I won't go out of my way to destroy the innocence of children, otherwise I'd just be a cretin, but I think we confuse education and awareness with the wanton destruction of peace of mind.

It's the difference between, say, the History Channel talking about history frankly, outlining the good and bad parts of history... And airing 2012 apocalypse specials about how we are all doomed and the only way to save ourselves is by getting ready for the Rapture and reading the Bible Code.

This kind of ass-backwards thinking about innocence is why IMO so many people are unprepared for the stresses of the real world. We can't solve our problems by ignoring them.

I can feel you, but I must disagree. Innocence might be something that needs to be lost sooner or later, but many including myself lost our innocence far too early. Children shouldn't need to worry about the troubles in our world, it's not their responsibility. And even if they knew, who would listen?

Well you could follow into the footsteps of Boyan Slat...
Take matter into your own hands.

That said, I would never not experience my university life, pregnancies, getting married, see your children develop. I love being adult. I love the wonderful things that come with responsibility and independence.
I had a turbulent childhood, I would say I had a great one because it's the only one I had. Most people don't agree with me because they see the turbulence as "bad".
My mom died shortly after my birth, I was put into a orphanage at 3 ( for a month, but still), I was adopted into a drastically different culture, my adoption parents divorced when I was 11 years old, they fought their battles through me. Several pets died (farm, all animals were my pets) I had ponies to call mine, dogs, cats, cattle sheep, pigs, rabbits and chickens.
But all that still does not compare to finding love and being able to marry them.

You live until your 18. If social media are to be believed, most kids already had 50 partners by then and down bottles of whiskey like lemonade.

If you do not live in a western country you may also already have a wive and kids by then. Though you'll never see them grow up.

Or a husband and kids.

Or two wives and kids.

Anyway regarding the OP, no thanks. In Germany that gives me two drinking years (for beer and wine), and in Netherlands exactly 0.

Besides, it would give me school forever. Which is rather the opposite from what the great poet Alice Cooper sang about.
