Consider the following:1. Fans have been running onto the field for at least the last 40 years and probably longer and no one has ever been significantly injured nor has the threat been more then a dumb practical joke. 2. It is still a crime. 3. Tasering is dangerous and should only be used as a last resort to prevent an obviously dangerous situation. 4. The guy deserves it.

You're aware, of course, that this goes on all the time? especially in baseball, it seems.

and that, of course, makes it ok to do because it goes on all the time. *nods*

I know, but we can never know beforehand the intentions of such idiots. It's best to err on the side of caution, and get the guy off the field as quickly as possible. If that means using a taser, so be it.

I'm sure there must me. The cop is black, it appears. That's an opening right there. Maybe Obama will invite the cop and the kid to the White House for a ... no, the kid is only 17. Dang, no teaching moment.

I think I should start posting seemingly innocuous news stories as topics and introduce an Obama-Aesop into it.

Obama-Aesop: A moral of a story that shows how Obama is a bad president.

You'd be stealing the thunder of other, prolific posters in doing so, but I admit I do find them entertaining when people do make such threads.

YGO has been doing it ever since January 2009. Might want to ask him for tips.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.

You'd be stealing the thunder of other, prolific posters in doing so, but I admit I do find them entertaining when people do make such threads.

But all my threads would have nothing to do with politics or Obama. Just random news stories that I would smith into Obama disparagement. Satire is the highest form of flattery right?

You should, definitely. Require each MLB team to employ at least three people who will run out of the stands at random times during each game and be tasered by the police. Perhaps they should receive bonuses if they elude the cops for more than five minutes.

Can someone explain to an outsider why American police consider the words "arrest" and "attack" to be synonyms?

Personally I think that the police were justified in there actions. If you watched the video the police tried to just tackle him but weren't able to so they used a Taser to bring him down.

All he did was run on the field. It's not like he was streaking. Completely unjustified. Of course nothing will be happening to the cops since they're just as corrupt as politicians.

Lesson learned:

Thousands of fans did not pay $60 to see some skinny jackass interrupt a game, endanger players by being somewhere he should not have been, and fleeing from security.

Apparently the threat of arrest, ejection, and banning from the park was not enough of a deterrent -- perhaps people won't be as eager to go screw up what could be a definitive play in the game.
