Remember people, even if Trump gets voted out you still gotta vote to kick out the Republicans in congress, lest you want a repeat of 2010.

I wouldn't rule out an upset (though I am predicting against it) either -- but the premise that Alaska is going to be fertile ground for a less conservative senator than Murkowski in '22 is wishful thinking Lumen.

I should have added I was referring to the senate election there this year. Polling has been very tight.

2022 is going to be an uphill battle, for sure. In the campaign world, the biggest fear is that a close Senate majority will hinder real change, thus fueling the fire for a low turnout, relatively tough 2022 midterm for the Dems. Progressives will not see what they're looking for and sit out, Dems who only vote during elections deemed crucial will sit out etc.

Not a 2010 repeat mind you but a 2014 repeat, where the polls aren't necessarily that bad but low enthusiasm/turnout absolutely fucking kneecaps us.

Hopefully Democrats have learned their lesson and turn out in every election. If Democrats get the Senate by a wide margin its going to very hard for Republicans to get it back in 2022. Redistricting should also mitigate losses in the House should democrats keep or gain control of several key state legislatures.

Uh no. The last election over 60% was 1968 with Nixon.

He's going to be coming across with a big settlement for wrongful termination plus spending some time in durance vile for voter intimidation, which is a crime in every state of the union. 10 days.

Wouldn't count on it. The Florida Supreme Court is Republican dominated, and failing that the SCOTUS soon will be.

Samesises.

I don't like being implicated and shamed in that group of people, so. Either it's not as common as everyone thinks it is or several people on NSG are vapid social media personalities.

I had heard it before, since a TV station here replays PBS News Hour and they occasionally do a story about border crossers.

I just did a search with the term "coyote*" ... restricted to General ... showing all characters. Before Trump's comment and then all our comments about it, I scrolled through THREE PAGES without finding the word "coyote" used to refer to human predators on border-crossing.

Seems like to General, the word is old slang, or possibly deprecated as discriminatory. The most common usage was in the Gun threads in reference to the canines being legitimate targets, there were a couple of comical references by myself (I find the species name funny), and San Lumen had a heart-warming story about coyotes stealing an old lady's newspapers.

I posit the word (in the sense of people) is most widely known among racists who actually like that immigrants get preyed on. In modern usage it may even be a dog whistle to those people.

Campaign records show Daniels has donated at least $614,000 to the Trump campaign, its PACS, and other Republican candidates this election cycle, WESH reported.

There's a few jobs worth of donations right there. What a wingnut.
