I know, but when Egypt is the only one most schools ever really focus on, and it’s always being whitewashed, and they don’t know their history and culture, they think “We have Egypt. They didn’t really even try to hide that they were hiding something: they literally skipped the entire dynasty and didn’t rename the next one to make it seem like the Nubian duke never occurred.

Because they're not as impressive. Sub-Saharan Africa was a largely undereveloped area. If it didn't have access to the Saharan trade routes or the Red Sea, it was largely backwards. Even then the more impressive parts of black Africa weren't as impressive as what other cultures had. Sub-Saharan Africa was always behind the rest of the world, culminating in the inevitable Scramble for Africa. Afrocentrists know that Sub-Saharan Africa was shit compared to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. So they try to leech off nearby civs to try and make up for the simple embarrassing fact that Sub-Saharan Africa has always been a primitive backwater. It's pure envy is all.

They should stop trying to claim a fictional, glorious past and work on a better, glorious future.

Most of them probably don't have Coptic DNA. The Copts have largely survived by keeping their identity instead of converting to Islam and adopting Arab culture.

I remember my friend Emmanuel Khalil (Coptic) started avoiding when he learned I was Muslim because “Muslims came and destroyed Egypt”
A couple days later he started talking to me again because he brought it up with his parents who basically said, “What the heck?! No they didn’t!”

Then again... he also believed at the time that Obama had tried and failed to invade Egypt.

Well, East Africans in general are quite different in appearance to what we would usually refer to as "Sub-Saharans", which tend to be descriptive of West and South African peoples.

Well, at least until you go South enough to find the Boers.

North Ancient Egyptians were generally tan looking, similar to Mesopotamians or modern day Arabs, while Southern Ancient Egyptians (Nubians) looked closer to Sub-Saharan Africans or Sudanese Arabs.

Don't know why this matters though cause Cleopatra was a blond haired, blue eyed, Greek woman during the Hellenistic Period of Middle Egypt.

I mean... he wasn't wrong. Muslims did come and destroy Egypt. Islamic armies invaded, deposed the Byzantine and Coptic authorities, and radically changed the face of Egypt forever. The Egypt the Muslims invaded was, in fact, destroyed and replaced by a new one. The Romans before them did the same. The Greeks before them did the same.

Eh, Islam did destroy a lot of cultural practices and languages when they came in, something not even the Greeks or Romans did. Coptic for example is only spoken by a couple Coptic Church members now, even though it used to be the main language of the place.

Islam actually destroyed a lot of cultures that it invaded. Very little is known about Arab paganism for example cause that was totally wiped out of existence.

I did my sixth grade Egypt project on the pharaoh Piye.
I remember how funny it was watching all the white kids try to pronounce the Arabic names of places in Egypt.

Well, the Greeks and Romans didn’t out of fear of being overthrown. The erosion of Ancient Egyptian culture was quite gradual and mainly of free will (especially at the beginning of Muslim rule). Much of it was because as people accepted Islam, they got rid off practices non-compatible with Islam.

Most well known African Kingdoms were in the North or Sahel Region.

Sub-Saharan Africa is just really bad for... everything. Agriculture, infrastructure, mining, etc... Is still super difficult there with modern technology.

Actually the Egyptians weren't Semitic. Their language was in its own family. They are all afro asiatic. But Semitic is to afro asiatic what Iranian is to Indo European.
