I came because my friend kept going on and on and on and on about it, and I was like screw it, I'll join. Point of the site? Fun? I personally like the community (on discord, I'm not as active as I would like on the forums), which is the main reason I'm still on here.

I love NS Nationstates for the Political RPs, Factbooks, Pics, laws, real life statistics as much as possible and the General Political and Social Forums.

I am at least 90 % real world based.

I have been on NS over 10 years since the old co uk forum days.

My first nation on NS had nothing to do with my native Cuba or Miami.

I wish I had been on NS from the start, I think most nations back then where real life nations and regional nations, it must have been RP heaven on NS. Today we have real world nations and regional nations from all over the world, most of them log in and log out but don't post, I cant understand why.

I am an RP addict with real world named nations, regional world nations and empires. with real world leaders with Pics, with real world statistics, I hate NS stats.

With my real world nations, regional world nations and real world empire nations, I have conquered the real world. lol.

With my made nation name nations, I have conquered part of the made up nation named nations world.

I have over 150 NS nations, of all kinds and governments, most of them are dead asleep right now, till I wake many of them up again.

I like and love to consider us all NS Friends despite our politics, President Trump and the Republicans. Who can RP together despite our politics as I describe.

I don't want any fellow nation persons banned from NS forever, which we all love.

I plan to be on NS for the rest of my life and from beyond the grave. I believe there is a God and Spirits, as I have posted about a few times, Ghosts if you prefer.

I am very proud of my record, of not getting in trouble with the mods for baiting, trolling, flaming and using foul language against my fellow nation persons, and I am not the only one on NS.

I am a political junky and we are all political junkies on NS.

I like this game because there are a variety of different regions and different communities (gameplayers, generalites, card traders, roleplayers, and more) for everyone.

Political simulators are very interesting and useful. This is social modeling.

The first game of this type that I played was Crisis in the Kremlin, about the situation in the USSR in the 1980s. One had to play for the conservative, centrist or reformist faction of the bureaucracy. In conditions when there was a shortage of goods and food, and separatism was brewing in the outskirts. I saw this situation in reality, I saw it in the game.

Civilization was a very good simulator. The best simulator is probably Tropico. I also played the game "The political machine" about the US elections.

A political simulator allows you to find out what problems politician will have to face, whether his doctrine is viable, and what will be the result in practice of implementing his ideas about a happy society. I chose the small island model, the industry of which produces medicines and biochemicals. The island is part of a large international block and is under its protection. Directions of development: technical progress, social protection of the population, cosmopolitanism, materialism, emancipation. Sometimes it was necessary to choose compromise solutions that contradicted the ideal model and doctrine. Then, at the first opportunity, correct the false bias that appears at the same time. I am pleased with the results: high level of secularism and concern for the poor; developed science, education, health care. Of course, this is just a simplified model.

There are many ideological people at the forum who are interested in politics and have social ideals. I can have discuss with them to broaden horizons. This is a great game!

i like using it to test out my ideological opinions and to better form new ones. In particular it taught me how communism fails no matter how hard you try to make it work. It relies on suppressing people's lives too much.

Why do I like NS? Portal to the Multiverse... that's pretty much all... I had a penchant on writing since a long time ago, and I often did it as a pastime.

The flexibility of it all! I love the fact that there are no pay-to-win features, and that there are no mechanics that are more superior or worked on compared to the rest.

In other words:
- I have RP'ed in NS Sports where scorination is random with bonuses from proper RP posts instead of some bounded mechanic.
- I love gathering NS Stats badges because while not many nations use them for worldbuilding, I am proud to show them. That, and it does not bar a nation from roleplaying (you must have 1000+ Public Healthcare, for example).
- I have fun doing technical stuff in Got Issues where I maintained the thread (I volunteered!), on top of the aforementioned NS Stats and analyzing trends!
- Again, no hard-bound mechanics or restrictions. My character can be anyone or anything I want.
- Cards. Can't forget those.

And the community. Believe it or not, despite all the mishaps, heat between people, I really do love meeting new folks here, and everyone has been welcoming. ♥

Modern nationstates are in decay and increasingly dysfunctional but we haven't yet found a better basis for poltical organisation.

I'm sure the political concept is facing some challenges too.

Also I think I've learnt a lot here, whether politically or in another field.
