You really need to understand that Trumpism is a religion. His followers BELIEVE. They are not acting or pretending - they believe with all their hearts that Trump is all that stands between them and unfathomable evil.

And it is a danger, and why it cannot be equated to the BLM protests.

Well it’s not a protest for one. It’s more simple to the riots than anything else.

Because equating into people believing in a lie is not the same as police brutality.

The BLM protests were very broad and not all coherent. Lafayette Square for example was a protest that led to police brutality all because Trump wanted to walk to the Church.

That's not what's being equated. It's the fraud vs the brutality, you're focusing on whether or not they're right and I keep telling you it doesn't matter. You're continually coming back to "but my side is right" and acting like that's not what everyone is calling you on.

When the representatives in what later became the United States gathered in the late 1700s to discuss the British problem, they were engaged in an act of sedition. Most people (here anyway) generally believe they had good cause, but it was still seditious.

That often happens in seditious and secessionist movements. They are people who are good fighting against the established order - even their own - when it doesn’t go their way.

It’s one of the reasons most secession attempts fail.

And there were many in Parliament who supported the grievances of the Colonists and didn't see it as sedition.

Also true - partisanship is not a new phenomenon. But nonetheless, it met the definition then, and this meets the definition now.

And they were not attempting to secede anyway.

That's the thing. You say his followers are anti democratic and they are, but in their minds many of them think they're saving freedom from "evil communist Joe Biden." And thats why I dont wish ill on the trumpsters at day's end. They're truly brainwashed by Trump and his minions. They really believe the stuff he said and are not in touch with reality anymore. They think that if Trumpism cannot succeed, their culture, their towns, their history and their "freedoms" (freedom to like own guns or buy a big mac) are going in the garbage can. It's this zealotry and alternate worldview that drove 4 trumpsters to lay their lives down for the president on January 6th.

I don't support them.

My point is that someone could walk up and say you're comparing an attempt to save democracy to a nationwide campaign of destruction over criminals getting themselves killed.

Difference is there's evidence these police killings were unjust. So far the Trump movement has offered no concrete evidence the election was rigged.

Absolutely and without any doubt. This is a pattern of escalating political violence that got us to where we are today, and we all need to do some introspection.

The BLM protests at one point stood close to transform into a popular color style revolution, as it managed to mobilize the masses.

Trump averted this from happening by refraining from sending the army on the street as it became clear the Pentagon and military wouldn march. The next day he reverted to pretending business as usual and didn mentioned the whole matter anymore with a single word.

That saved him and his administration back then.

They took up arms against the British, if that’s not treason than I don’t know what is. Parliament was divided but didn’t stop the British form sending tens of thousands of soldiers to fight the uprising either.
