I would amend original Article I as follows:

1) Article I, Section 8, clause 3:

“To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, [and among the several States,] and with the Indian Tribes, and regulate direct commerce among the several States;”

End the abuse of the Commerce Clause that led to monstrosities such as Wickard v. Filburn.

The following are amendments to amendments.

2) Amendment I:

“Section 1. Congress shall make no law [respecting an establishment of religion] establishing an official Religion of the United States, or prohibiting the free exercise [thereof] of religion; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Section 2. A law establishing an official Religion of the United States shall consist solely in a law recognizing a specific Religion, adherence to which is a necessary condition for election or appointment to any Office of the United States.”

Clarify “respecting an establishment of religion”, which never meant “giving respect to” or the like, but was intended to prevent the creation of something similar to the Church of England.

3) Amendment XII:

“Section 1. The Electors shall meet . . . .
Section 2. No Elector shall be chosen by any State on a basis other than the votes of the citizens of that State in the election for which such Elector is to be chosen.”

End the back-door efforts to implement the nonsense that is the “national popular vote” once and for all.

4) Amendment XIV:

“Section 1. All persons born to citizens of the United States or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. . . .”

Absolutely no more anchor babies.

We believe this clause in the US constitution has been misinterpreted for many years:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.

It does not say are subject to the jurisdiction there off, it says and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, this is a big difference.

Illegal under most nations constitutions are still citizens of their nations of origin, so they are subject to their nations of origins where they were born.

The statement says and subject to, it does not say are subject to the jurisdiction of the USA.

Also, there are legal naturalization laws for legal immigrants.

Illegals cross the border of the USA illegally, have kids born in the USA, then say my kids are Americans, now you have to make us legal too. This is why birth right citizenship should not exist. We strongly believe the US constitution on this issue, has been misinterpreted for a long time.

Perhaps with a stronger conservative Republican majority on the US Supreme Court they will decided it our way.

I think the ones already born here should be allowed to stay, but not the ones born in the USA, after the US Supreme Court's decision in our favor.

We Republicans, conservatives, and Republican Trump supporters read it this way and strongly disagree the US constitution allows birth right citizenship.

I tend to judge past figures relatively (i.e how they compare to the rest of their society).

If the founding fathers were significantly better than their peers, I'm not necessarily opposed to celebrating/honouring them. Otherwise, virtually no historical figure would be worthy of being honoured, and no figure alive will be in ~300 years when morals will most likely be drastically different.

This is the only way to look at history in any serious way.

people who believe racist things tend to be racists. the year they live in doesn't change anything. do you think slavery, segregation, and the formation of the kkk weren't racist? becuase all those things happened in a time where it was socially acceptable to be racist in America. these things didn't occur in isolation or fall out of the sky one day, they were created by racists.


if in the year 3927, white people were a minority and lynching them was overlooked at best and encouraged at worse, would you accept that as not racist because the society of the day said so? i wouldn't. because it's clearly racist.

also, when people try to say things like "it was normal at the time", they forget (or intentionally ignore) that the people being discriminated against also have opinions, and that they, obviously, were not alright with it. just because they weren't in power doesn't mean they shouldn't be remebered.
