I can sorta relate: when on campus, but not heading to/from or in class, or getting something to eat and/or drink, I basically spent my time on one of the public computers at the uni library.

Yes. So many books that you can read. It would be perfect.

Also, people in a library? I haven't seen them there in a while (before the pandemic, obviously).

I don't know if smiling would work that well. Living in a library sounds like some version of heaven on earth, though. Someone should make that possible.

Maybe I should get contacts, just in case.

AFAIK, the libraries in Singapore are still closed... I think. It's been so long since I last checked.

But what I know is that back in those good ol' days of "Before 2020", me and my friend always had to contend with acts of selfishness; people taking up seats by leaving their stuff behind, only to go for 40-60+ min lunch break and never to come back.

I understand you need to work as much as us, but stop hogging the place, ya darn landlubbers.

I'm scared of those comments sections. Local news is a bit better, though. There are really good people there, more like NSG.

I think the public libraries are open, but I don't think the one on campus is open for in-person things, and even if it were, all my classes for this term and the winter term are online, which means little reason for me to go from my house to there and back home.

No, well ... you could build one or find a very rich bibliophile and smile at him. Or you could sneak into a large library and live there.

That's annoying. It's pretty disrespectful of the library and the people in it.

Appreciate the nice comments I got from all of y'all.

But, yeah, there is something extra infuriating about rudeness in libraries. It's one thing to be rude, it is another wheelhouse to do so in a place where quiet reflectiveness is encouraged.

I reported on an adbot about an essay mill now and then. One of those "We will help you with your HW" thing for an exorbitant fee.

I don't want to encourage their business but I wonder how they will react to having been asked "So can you help me do these complex mathematical and programming stuff on an artificial intelligence?" :P
