Based and polytheism pilled.

Also daily reminder that in the US the 1% are contributing 50% more to CO2 and various pollution emissions than half the country combined. We need to rally against capitalism, not spooky socialism.

Rich people use things that are energy-consuming, which often releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This isn't surprising. The richest 10 percent (approx. 630 million people) accounted for over half (52 percent) of the carbon dioxide emissions. The richest one percent accounted for 15 percent of emissions -- more than twice that of the poorest half of humanity (7 percent).

I'll add that this really isn't a rich people problem. It is more of an American problem. Americans as a whole have a rather large footprint in and of themselves.

Abolitionism in the North has leagued itself with Radical Democracy, and so the Slave Power was forced to ally itself with the Money Power; that is the great fact of the age.

You make a good argument for capitalism being the worst thing our species ever invented.

Not quite, I made the argument that you misconstrue the data in order to fit your own personal perspective. The people of the US live a life unfathomable to the Somalis, despite the fact that the individual Somali produces a way smaller carbon footprint than an American. It turns out that individual carbon footprint isn't an indicator of success?

And capitalism was never "invented". Private property and trade on a free market has existed since man. Capitalism is only reflective of our personal habits as human beings.

That simply isn't true, capitalism isnt just market exchange, it's WAY more complicated than that. It's particularly the set of relations that appear between the owner of capital and the owners of labor and the wage struggle it produces. Primitive communism, slave society, and feudalism all have distinct modes of production (a classification of economies based on how they produce and how production is distributed) and they all had some sort of market exchange. Hell, even socialism has market exchange of some sort.

The capitalist epoch can only really be said to have begun once land became less important than capital.

Edit: what do the somalis have to do with rich people destroying the planet?

Well, for starters, they've made Chiapas into one of the poorest states in Mexico. It has the lowest HDI in Mexico, and the Zapatistas aren't even putting forward socialist causes. They allow private business - hell, there are even businesses with murals to them - and are mostly just a Mayan nationalist group than an actual revolutionary society.

Yeah, they dont claim to be socialists, they're an indigenous movement. And they made the choice not to industrialize and keep their culture.

They're also champions of women's and gay rights.

You literally are trying to create a racist system though. You're the NSDAP in 1925. Just because you don't have the power yet doesn't mean you're not a fucking racist.
