Preferably I support Social Democracy, however I do agree that Liberal and Republican idealist focus more on the people of their represented nations, after all the people are the backbone of the civilization and they must be rewarded for their doings, however still keeping a safe and secure Democratic society for all to enjoy and have the luxuries to do so along with improvements to the welfare and income equality would be a great start for reforms to the social sector. And in becoming a mixed economy to support both the people and the private sectors. In which Liberalism and Republicanism agree to settle their differences for the common good, but only if they'd agreed. Either way though, I'd say a majority of Socialists would want something like this, but it's the Far Left and Far Right what makes the political situation a struggle which divides both sides further as time continues. By the way I believe Fascism and Communism is an oppressive system which exploits and uses the 'People' in a way to sound legitimate and to gain attention and popular support, especially during the 20th century.

Compared to fascism, people actually caring about and killing each other over dynastic disputes is sort of innocently wholesome.

Dynastic disputes are not really any different from military interventions to force regime changes.

It's all about the sphere of influence.

Why would you miss unaccountable leaders who held an elite status over the people they govern?

I would argue that they weren't unaccountable. Particularly later on.

When Trump pardons himself, however, then we'll have unaccountable leadership.

Towards the end of the 18th century things got increasingly peaceful and War in Europe became less commonplace. Wouldn it have been for the French Revolution and it's consequences this era may have continued for long times to come.
