Otherwise, this argument has no leg to stand on-- of course Bolivia is poorer, it started poorer and has been for centuries. Are you saying the only acceptable evidence of MAS's success would have been catching up to or surpassing both Chile and Argentina economically between 2006 and the present?

You all don't want to accept that socialism is evil and has caused the biggest evils in world history. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Nelson Mandela were all self-proclaimed socialists and they all honestly did pretty horrible things.

Whether you all decided to retroactively attempt to dictate what they believed in or not, they all were socialists by their own admission.

Yes, I understand that Henry Kissinger's realpolitik involved being friendly to dictators (including socialist dictators, btw), but there is a difference between doing diplomacy with other countries and actively extolling their economic policies as the best. In my ideal world, every country would be a liberal democracy, but that is not remotely possible or probable. We make do with what we have.

There was a Nazi socialist wing once, when the Nazis came to power they wanted to go all in on left leaning economics. Hitler didn't like this because it harmed his relationship with business oligarchs, so he had all the socialist wing leaders killed. Then he privatized Germany's economy en masse!

Andrew Jackson was good actually. The natives were collectivizors who would become socialists had their nations continued today so his actions were justified in bringing about a proper democratic balance in the country, however i think the survivors should be compensated because it was a little tough.

The right has a long history of adopting terminology from the left and applying it to their own movements to earn favour with the working class. This can be seen in modern terms in anarcho-capitalists adopting their name from anarchy, an inherently left-wing ideology. However, like ancaps, Naziism's core ideology and set of beliefs places it very concretely as a right-wing pro-capitalist ideology, which is why the first thing Nazis did when they got into power was partner with the existing industrial elite and make trade unions illegal.
