Just take the easy way out like I do: I want to bar fascists from holding office because I don't like their policy positions and I don't particularly care enough about whether my democracy is liberal enough to allow all opinions to be expressed freely. Some opinions should be verboten because they are hostile and dangerous.

If anything, barring fascist parties from holding office may actually create a safer environment for freedom and democracy to thrive, free from hostile and dangerous rhetoric that can brainwash the masses.

Golden Dawn was essentially a gang of extremists who have been active since the 80s but only gained massive popularity after the financial crisis in Greece. Their core members have always been German National Socialist loving criminals. They had it coming.

Golden Dawn isn't just a right-wing party. They are full blown neo-nazis. So they dislike the rule of law in the way we understand it. They desire an autocracy, where the ruler makes the laws.
