Yes... G&D's summary of the article is unnecessarily inflammatory.

That being said, anything that disadvantages mail-in votes will probably disadvantage Blue, so the effect of the decision probably will be to shift the state further Red. On one hand, I'm quite sympathetic to the reasoning behind decision (not changing election rules so close to an election) and a deadline is a deadline, but on the other hand, if the current rules stand for the next elections, the possibility of voter suppression via "mysterious" and "unpredictable" delays in the mail service can't be discounted.

The current crisis has seen urban areas depopulate heavily. So people who lived there and didn't register for new locations will make up the majority of mail in ballots.

Then why has the GOP been conveniently sitting on a stimulus bill for the past 4 or so months?

The Stimulus bill they wouldn't be agreeing to regardless? Again, they're not sitting on some miraculous miracle cure. They're sitting on a Democratic wish list.

But that's probably why you're upset they aren't just handing it to you.

You guys can whine all you want, but nothing changes the fact that there’s now a conservative majority on the supreme court, possibly for decades, even if Trump loses the election and Republicans lose the Senate

True. So all we can hope for is that judge Barret will keep recusing from issues that her faith has a strong opinion on.

My question is why you're raging so hard. It's pitiful. I pity you.

Congress doesn't do anything, because current politics makes people act like tools for a political party. *cough* Just how it's been for a while now. I don't think Amy Barrett has a significant impact on the stimulus bills, and frankly the bills would still be blocked even if Ruth were alive.

It is kind of a trick that one. She has to first decide the correct law disagrees with her faith. And look who has a judicial philosophy that just happens to agree with her faith 99% of the time.

The republicans aren't going to control one of the other three branches of the government for a long time, so it's fair to let them hold on to one.

The GOP had their own covid stimulus bill. Even Wolf Blitzer grilled Pelosi for why she didn't take the GOP stimulus.

They are referencing the speed at which the GOP moved to push this through and comparing that to the sweet, sweet time they are taking with the stimulus bill.

The problem isn't that she opposes abortion and is socially conservative, the problem is that she's might gut the ACA and use the court to strike needed social programs down.

You overestimate the memory of Americans.

Even the Nixon scandal only resulted in the Republicans losing the Presidency for one term.
