He got his contract guaranteed against a suspension??? That is a god level agent.

That's why they accepted a trade to Cleveland and not Atlanta. Initially Deshaun didn't want to go to the Browns, but Atlanta wasn't willing to guarantee the contract against suspension, so they went back to the Browns and they agreed to that. Watson will lose just 1 million if he's suspended for every game this year.

Personally, I hope he gets blacklisted and the Browns collapse again after sacrificing so much to get him and getting rid of their starting QB. I love a lot of the players in the locker room, most of them in fact. I'm a Browns fan. But there's no way they made this move without ownership, coaching staff (at least Stefanski) and the GM signing off on it.

, everyone had to buy in, it may not have been an enthusiastic buy in but they said yes.

I must say though if I were a professional athlete David Mulugheta would be my agent.

Ethics aside it seems like a dumb move for the Browns. Mayfield is a more than serviceable QB and now you've taken on a player who (even if he doesn't get suspended) seemed like he left the Houston locker room atmosphere worse than he found it and parted ways with them very acrimoniously. I don't know if the skill difference between Watson and Mayfield is enough to offset even the character issues not related to his legal trouble.

Anyone else think the Heinz Field getting a new naming rights company in something called Acrisure is disgusting? Nobody knows what the fuck an Acrisure is while Heinz embodies Pittsburgh.

They could call it GHB Field instead. A fitting way to remember Rapistberger's stint at QB.

Eh, not really. Yinzers gonna Yinz and call everyone a jagoff regardless of what the name is. I mean, I remember people complaining about the giant Heinz ketchup bottles, while at a game. But they got used to it over time. Acrisure is owned by a Steelers fan, so at least its someone that cares about the team with their name on the stadium. It could have been something like T-Mobile Field or Microsoft Stadium or something like that.

I used to live in the Burbs of Chicago so I heard about this a while ago. Aparently the team is tired of how Mayor Lightfoot is running the city and are moving out to the Burbs (they havn't picked a finalized site yet) in an effort to get away from her. I forsee this going well for the team, if they can land in an area that is favorable to them.

EDIT: Aparently they settled on Arlington Heights since I last heard about it. They are a more favortable area than the other name I heard being thrown around. And it would be pretty easy to get there on game day instead of having to drive on heavily congested roads in downtown Chicago.

Yeah, but when the city government is a clusterfuck, the city kinda deserves for the team to move out to the Burbs.

Deshaun Watson has been served a six game suspension for violating NFL's personal conduct policy. He has been accused by 25 women of sexual assault. The arbitrator claimed there was not enough evidence to justify an indefinite suspension. This "ruling" is less severe than what the Browns were expecting, which was an eight game suspension.

The NFL or Watson can appeal the ruling though the former is more likely to do so given they wanted an indefinite suspension. The players' union has said they will stand by for the ruling and are urging the NFL to do so as well. Meanwhile, Calvin Ridley got a full season suspension for gambling.

How pathetic of a ruling.

For a comparison, this is the same suspension that Roethlisberger and 'Zeke got for their personal conduct accusations. 'Zeke was accused of domestic violence, and Big Ben was accused of sexual assault of a college student at a bar bathroom.

Don’t forget the time a player smoked weed and got a lifetime ban.

The NFL sends a clear message, sexual assault and harassment is ok but weed and gambling aren’t

I mean they "air quote" fixed the O-line I believe it's been months the lat time I followed the NFL was before the Super Bowl I believe.
I heard fixing O-lines are kind sort hard to do.
But I am excited to see what the jags can do, I don't see them as a team over .500 of the season though.

I never did like when owners focused on moving to a different stadium. Now I have no clue what condition soldier field is in, but I always thought instead of moving just fix what needs to be fixed the owners for Boston did that with Fenway. Small changes or fixes are a lot better then a complete change.
