Bucs get into the play offs. Gronk dramatically unretires. Sweep the playoffs, win Super Bowl. Brady looks at the camera and says, “Now, I’m retired” winks at the camera as it fades to black.

And Josh Allen smashes him through a table.

I don't believe Gronk can be signed after the Trade deadline, so that'd have to be like right now

I believe you can sign people whenever. Remember a few years ago when Marshawn Lynch briefly came out of retirement to help Seattle in the playoffs?

Yep, so long as it isn't a trade, you can freely sign available free agents whenever. The Rams coaxed a safety out of retirement for the playoffs last year.

That implausible scenario, if you will, is much more ridiculously remote than your recent TNF fantasy. Congrats on the 99 and 44/100% purity of that kinda crazy.

Meanwhile, the Packers finally figured out that running almost every play is a viable strategy for their offense. Probably won't help them here tonight, but down the road, who knows?

Yeah, they are flying under the radar but sometimes that serves you well. That other purple team out there thrived on it for many seasons, though not so much now since Lamar was MVP.

And of course the pressure Jackson's put on himself by not hiring an agent and settling his financial future before the season started, tempting, daring the football gods and the fates. Seriously, if you like the guy it's hard to watch him this year, smh. But so far he keeps getting up after every play.
*fingers crossed*

And the funny thing is, he's doing to say he can't trust us to succeed. Not really a huge surprise, but last week was first time in a while I was confident we didn't have to worry during our opponent's last second comeback attempt. Closing out games is is a good feeling, even though it often doesn't seem like we can.

Nah, we want the Raiders to suffer. I also want the NFL to eat shit so hard regarding the Raiders that they send them back to Oakland. Or ideally: Send the Rams back to St. Louis, send the Chargers back to San Diego, and the Raiders to LA.

“How good are they Vikings?” They’ve won like 5 straight, NFL.com, stop trying to look for reasons to salivate over the Cowboys and ignore everybody else. You do that enough.

I agree with you. I think this week's win was the most convincing one since week 1. And yeah, the author says he doesn't quite trust us yet, but he concedes that as long as the team itself believes, nothing else really matters. Also, considering how offense-heavy the league is, having our defense stop game-winning/tying final drives from Chicago, Detroit, and Arizona is very impressive. And something we 100% wouldn't have been able to do last year.

If Kirk goes to a Super Bowl and gets MVP I hope he says, “YOU LIKE THAT?! YOU LIKE THAT!!!” over the intercom so loud the speakers break.

We all hate the Raiders but first Oakland needs a stadium that's worth a crap. Vegas is a natural fit for them especially with a player named Divine Diablo on the roster. As for the rest of this ridiculousness, St. Louis is a baseball town so they should get the Cardinals back from Arizona. Baltimore doesn't want the Colts back, so Zona can have the Colts, lol ...and that prevents Cleveland from having two versions of the Browns although they could lay claim to the Rams before LA, my dude. The Titans are getting a new stadium leave them alone. Let's face it, Texas deserves the Texans. And finally nobody ever cared about the Chargers anytime anyplace, anywhere, let's just unplug them already.

Yeah, the fact that our defense is able to consistently show up when we need it most, even when the offense doesn't is enabling us to win close games. While we're about 50-50 in one-score games last year, we're 5-0 this year, and we only had to be bailed out by sheer luck in Saint's game. We're a different, better team this year (although, even if we weren't, given our competition we'd still probably be leading the division).

It's also worth noting the guy who does nfl.com's power rankings has (or at least did the last couple of weeks) a similar belief. He had the Vikings ranked very highly two weeks ago, but said that they didn't earn their spot, Vikings wound up as high as we did only because nobody played well enough to justify moving us down. True to his word, he had a couple of teams leapfrog us during the bye last week when they showed up and played well.
