Its almost as if Tampa Bay has been playing well above their actual abilities all season and aren't actually that good.

Antonio Brown definitely wasn't ready to play, I saw at least one interception that was totally on him. Apparently he only had two days of practice. That said, I expect this offense to explode from here forward. They've got the 2nd best quarterback ever along with 2 all pro caliber receivers and a pro bowl kinda guy in Evans. Not to mention the best tight end room in the league, and it might've held that title before Gronk came along.

The Steelers did not deserve to win that game. We played down below our terrible opponent's level as has become our habit under Tomlin. We're undefeated (somehow) and yet I still have to say that I don't like Mike Tomlin at all. I'm not saying the Steelers should fire him (for once) I'm just saying I still wouldn't complain if they did.

Fire him? They keep winning, he'll probably get a big contract extension.

I have to agree, the only reason they won was because the Cowboys had no idea what to do on that final drive. What they SHOULD have done, if they actually had a coherent team and strategy, was go for an alternating pattern of long passes and short runs. They kept trying to do these short passes to get out-of-bounds each time, which really just ate more clock in the end. Three long first downs, spike the ball with 5 seconds at the 20-yard-line, then go for the touchdown. The Steelers did not take the 3 points they should have grabbed from a FG, and that sort of cocky behavior with anyone else would have ended with them being 7-1. I dunno how long they'll be able to get away with that, but it won't be forever.

In my humble opinion, the Steelers are winning despite Tomlin. I understand the results are there and that he won't be getting fired. However, I've been calling for his firing for years now, and an 8-0 start doesn't entirely ease my worries when I'm still seeing the old awful patterns I've come to know and loathe. I'm glad we're 8-0. This is the most hope I've had for this team in several years. But Tomlin is still Tomlin and I still don't trust him.

Watching a few talking heads struggling to explain how their golden boy managed to lie down and die last night in that game, I have to say that while I don’t think Tom Brady is done forever, I do get the feeling that the Buccaneers’ locker room might not be as stable as we have been led to believe.

Now, giving well-due props to New Orleans of course, they dominated and they made sure he had very few options. But we’ve all seen Tom Brady come back from 28-3, 24-0, and other such scores. We’ve seen him score 2 TDs with less than a minute, to kick the Browns’ faces in a few years ago. But last night he played as if he forgot how to be himself. He threw lots of short passes, he threw a lot of ducks and a lot of terrible fades, and he forced at least two of the throws that led to INTs (he quite literally gave Malcolm Jenkins the football). It was pretty disastrous all over, and he only seemed...slightly angry.

Brady has always liked to call his own plays, and a lot of last-night’s plays did not seem like his usual, daring self. I think he ran to Tampa Bay to prove he was not a system QB, but the problem is that, to an extent, every QB needs a stable system to be successful, even if they are natural playcallers like Brees, Brady, Rodgers, and P. Manning. (Eli could be decent at times, as well, but not on their level.) Bruce Arians has not been a BAD coach until last night. Last night, he made Adam Gase look like a decent coach. And I think this is the result of several weeks of slow meltdowns. Ironically enough, this can’t be pined on Antonio Brown, who gave at least an effort.

Props to Santos as well, who demonstrated that for the first time in a while, the kicker is not TB’s problem.

This is merely a suggestion. Didn't say it's the cause. Hell, he just might be done. But I think his week was abnormal and it fucked him up. As to the exact reasons this week is odd.... he lost a game.

I think he's a pretty solid coach. Lost Ben + a bunch of other starters (Juju and James Conner iirc) last season, and he at least made a push to get his team in the playoff. Plus he got rid of AB and Bell once it became clear that it wasn't working. Weeded out the bad apples.

I think that's actually a fairly good deduction, Jerzy. Tom does have personal connections with Trump iirc, which might make the loss sting a bit more for him. And it's totally possible he wasn't going to have a great game anyway, that could've just pushed it well over the edge, because from what I saw the Saints played great defense last night.

Hear me out here: Everyone knew what was going to happen with the election, and they like the Saints better than the Buccs, so they scheduled this game specifically so the Buccs would lose to the Saints, and the Saints would get closer to the super bowl via having an NFC south championship.

This has been: Conspiracy theories with Ran.

But they need to fucking lose for me

I'm sorry I didn't turn the game on, and I'm going to assume you guys are joking. As a matter of fact, I'm so (confident that you are/afraid that you aren't) that I'm not even going to check the score.

It was no joke. They were literally leading for most of the game. It was only by a miracle that The Evil Empire came back in the fourth quarter and won.

Of course the Evil Empire pulled a win out of their asses at the last goddamn minute.
Keeping my fingers crossed this isn't an omen of things to come.
Though with the usual luck, wouldn't be surprised to see them rally, sweep the season and go on to the Super Bowl yet again.

A couple iffy moves dropped me back down to 11th. Darn it. XD

Picks for next week coming soon! I actually did mostly fine this week, just not enough to move forward.
