2nd Thread: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=449430
Hello there!

Welcome to the NFL Thread V3! Sit down, have yourself a mean cup of joe, feel free to talk anything and everything NFL related, and enjoy!

Occasionally we also get into talking about NCAA football, particularly come draft season, so no worries if that's more your thing!

The beating heart of our activity during the regular season:NFL Picks League by Kohr

And hey, feel free to shoot me a telegram if you have any suggestions for changes to the OP or the thread. It's always a work in progress!

Well, you're welcome regardless! Here's a quick article explaining some stuff about the NFL, including positions and such.

And of course, you might be wondering: What team should I root for?

In my totally unbiased opinion, #TitanUp, but the Saints also seem to be fairly popular around here. We also have resident Bears, Bills, Broncos, Buccaneers, Colts, Falcons, Ravens, Steelers, and Vikings fans scattered about.

Division Winner Picks, as polled.
Division: First -# of votes; Second -# of votes

AFC West: Chiefs with 10 votes...jesus
AFC East: Patriots-7; Jets, Bills, Dolphins-1
AFC South: Titans-8; Texans-2; Jags-1

SB Champs: Kansas City Chiefs and Patty freaking Mahomes

We gave it a good shot, we have never had a good record against Green Bay. This secondary is atrocious. Geez, what happened during this offseason.

Well, my optimism came back after a few minutes.

We play Detroit next week, hopefully that will pose a good chance for a bounce-back/morale-booster.

We're also only second in the NFC South, and the Bucs also have a hard schedule ahead. It's early and we have a chance to tie-up if the Chargers trounce the Bucs next week.

Also the Falcons lost, and are 0-3. This makes me happy.

That was a really stressful game.
Y'know aside from all the injuries this has been one of the best weeks in football for me in a long time and I couldn't watch every game because we canceled the package and i haven't found a good streaming site yet.

I will gladly take it for the Bills and Browns though. Congrats on proving me wrong and may your season be fruitful! (Just don’t play New Orleans and let us try to keep winning please.)

I wouldn't be too worried about New Orleans yet. You have a relatively weak division with the Buccs being the only other tough looking squad at this point, and Atlanta will just be there to pad Brees and Kamara's stat sheets.

Besides, Saints under Sean Payton: September record: 25-22. October: 38-13 November: 34-18, December: 33-23.

Stretched out over a season, those percentages translate to 8.5 wins, 11.9 wins, 10.4 wins, and 9.4 wins. So basically you're in your worst month as a football team by a full game, and the team is going to get hot here pretty quick. And remember: CantGuardMike should be back within a few weeks, and Marcus Davenport will return eventually, I heard he had a good camp.

I honestly don't know what the hell is going on with Tennessee's pass rush. Harold Landry (9 sacks) in 2019, is quiet as a mouse. Jeffery Simmons has 1 through 3 weeks. He's an interior guy, but still. Jadaveon Clowney has 0, and I let myself get hyped about him despite valuing him way less than anyone else, because Tennessee's biggest FA signing in recent memory was Eric freaking Decker or Malcolm Butler.

Mike Vrabel is a defensive guy, he has to figure this out, and quickly. We have enough talent up front to rack up 25+ sacks with our top 4 guys there alone. (I don't think 10 from Landry, 9 from Clowney, 6 from Simmons, and 5 from Beasley is outlandish at all)

EDIT:
After watching the highlights, Derrick Henry has some incredible hops, that one touchdown he jumped in for was crazy. At what, 250 pounds, its hard to move like that.

LSU and the Saints both seem to have defensive issues

LSU’s problems seem to be more extensive in my eyes. Give credit where credit is due, they lost to unranked Miss. State, and the Saints lost to a Packers team that is on fire. I think both teams can bounce back, but it’s about discipline at this point for the Saints whereas LSU has a ton of unknowns they have not determined.
