From what I understand, if Trump dies and his amazing team of non-crooks don't cover it up, it's up to the Republican Party to nominate someone to run in his place, it doesn't automatically default to Pence, only the remaining months. Pence could say no, and frankly, yeah he probably would because he is unpopular and too lazy to be President.

If they do cover it up and Trump wins as a corpse, Pence gets his next 4 years as the President Nobody Asked For.

If both of them die because Pence and Trump spend too much time cuddling while taking turns coughing in each others mouths as a dare, the chain of command would go in it's usual order, both before and after the election.

The thing is most if not all of the ballots have been printed. We have voted as have an unprecedented number of others. If Biden wins as expected the point is moot whatever happens to Trump. If Trump wins, having died in the meantime, well, there is no precedent. There are no effective laws requiring electors to vote for any candidate so it's possible some unforeseen split within the Republican Party will throw the election into the House.

My working hypothesis is that Trump's demise would be a wash electorally. The number of Trumpists who would simply stay home would roughy balance the number of "soft Republicans" who would turn out to support Pence or whoever. But that's just a guess really.

As for the clown in the Oval Office I don't feel the least bit sorry. He's spent most of the last year sacrificing the health and lives of the people he theoretically governs to serve the interests of his own reelection. It's only just -- not to mention predictable -- that he has contracted the disease that has killed nearly 210,000 Americans. And I hope it goes through the White House staff like gangrene through a Civil War hospital.

To double up on my last post I wanna say I have earned some more respect for Biden over his response to Trump getting the virus. I still think Biden won't be a good president by any means but stepping back from campaigning and showing some civility, even when it's someone you dislike as much as Trump, is an admirable thing. Because the Trump presidency have been nothing but paragons of transparency and honesty, right?

I think the only reason this has gotten out is because Trump isn't at the helm anymore and whoever is in charge of information flow in the White House is sick of his shit, or like some people say, this is another one of Trump's big 6D chess moves that'll pay off in the long run like denying Coronavirus was a serious issue and destroying foreign relations and not condemning extremism.

Nevermind that it was probably Trump's irresponsible, prideful denial of science that probably landed him in this shit to begin with, if it is true.
