I'd like Biden to call Trump out on that drug test. At the first debate. Have dr Fauci backstage, ready to come on the moment Trump says OK. Because if Trump does drugs at all, it's either cocaine or amphetamine and he'll be on it for the debate.

But repeal the Hughes act and a lot more people would be getting a machine-gun specifically for self-defence. And if they have to use them, simply not having the time to check there are no innocents behind their intended target.

Almost certainly not, no. They'd still be NFA items and it's standard procedure to tell newbies to avoid using these things for self defense because even if it's justified they're scary to the common folk and a DA will happily try to crucify you for it. There's only been a handful of times it's ever happened.
