It's nice to have principled conservatives, as opposed to deranged power-tripping fascists and cringelords, but it'd be nice if principled conservatives (and principled liberals) could do more than virtue signal.

What I don't get is how any true believer in democracy can endorse the GOP at this point? I mean, Trump will do what Trump does, but for almost every one of the GOP seats to sit silent and idle in the face of a blatant call to disregard democracy is inexcusable. They're showing the country right now that the party doesn't care about democracy so long as they are reaping benefits from its demise. And I have a feeling I already know the answer to my question. It's that the number of Americans that still believe in democracy is at an all time low. And the majority thought now is "My side in power by any means" and that is truly terrifying for a country that's already displaying disturbing parallels with Germany circa 1920.

same could be said for the democrat party, they literally rigged their own election process TWICE(first when they bone Bernie during 2016, even going so far as to put up barriers at the convention to keep them out) then a second time when they destroyed all the candidates to force Biden into the running.

Sorry, I'm not voting for Biden who is going to raise my taxes and turn me into a felon for my AR-15.

How else does one of the least favored candidates get top spot out of nowhere? He was almost bottom of the barrel almost the entire race then all of a sudden everybody makes way for him, stop being naive.

not even getting into the absolute travesty that were the DNC primaries which were beyond fucked up.

You'd think they'd follow their revered Bible..

That is very different from a sitting president threatening to refuse to relinquish his power. What you describe is a party's internal dealings. What Trump is suggesting is a coup.

There’s no evidence whatsoever for your claims about the primaries but I don’t except someone who think Baltimore would magically be better if they elected a Republican mayor to see reality. I do give Kim Klacik credit for making an effort though.

Biden was always expected to win the nomination, from the moment he announced his candidacy.

Nazeroth wrote:He was almost bottom of the barrel almost the entire race then all of a sudden everybody makes way for him,

That's completely false. He did poorly in exactly 2 states: Iowa and New Hampshire, mainly because he was vastly outspent and outcampaigned there. His Nevada result was disappointing, but not horrible. His strength with black voters, known from the very start of polling in the race, delivered him victory in South Carolina, which caused enough other members of the race to drop out that he triumphed after Super Tuesday.
Notably, Bernie won several primaries that he lost in 2016 (such as California), and then went on to lose several that he won in 2016 (such as Michigan), before falling fatally behind Biden in the March 10 primaries.

Nazeroth wrote:stop being naive.

Stop lying. I followed the primaries probably closer than anyone you know who isn't a regular in this thread (;)).

Nazeroth wrote:not even getting into the absolute travesty that were the DNC primaries which were beyond fucked up.

You do realize that nearly half the DNC is literally Bernie-appointed, right?

Older voters are ignorant, they just sit inside and watch CNN/MSNBC all day and hear about how horrible Trump is before getting on facebook and crying while they vote to have their suburbs filled low income housing and increasing gun control on themselves.

Frankly, the older population in America is a wreck and I don't even think they know what they are looking at half the time.

Low income housing being forced into middle/high income housing decreasing the housing value, it's basic economics.

"low income housing is great" not if you drop it in the middle of a suburb.

It wasn't "out of nowhere". In typical fascist fashion, you're lying in the guise of truth.

Biden was one of the top contenders even before the primaries started, and there are more nationwide polls with him coming in first than there are of Bernie Sanders coming in first. Although he did slip behind other candidates in early 2020, he was never one of the least favored candidates.

I would have loved to see Bernie Sanders lead the Democratic Party in this election, but I'm not gonna let you get away with this sort of manipulative bullshit just because you want to deflect from the blatantly unethical shit your beloved fascist party is trying to pull now. Sit the fuck down, liar.

Because low income housing is generally used by poor people, and they are generally shitty places to live in(not always)

it's the clientele involved.

If you have a really nice quiet neighborhood you don't want a chunk of the ghetto slapped into the middle of it.

In contrast, political talk shows, particularly conservative talk programs, have older audiences. Large majorities of the regular viewers of Sean Hannity (66%) and The O’ Reilly Factor (64%) are 50 and older. Just 43% of all Americans are 50 and older. And while just 17% of the public is 65 and older, 42% of regular Hannity viewers and 40% of regular O’Reilly viewers are in that age category.

Liberal talk show audiences also skew older, but not as dramatically. Still, among regular Hardball watchers, 59% are 50 or older, and 28% are at least 65. Among regular Rachel Maddow viewers, 57% are 50 or older and 25% are at least 65.

Yeah, I'm sure they are voting for Biden too, guaranteed.

Yes they are as they see Trump as a total failure of a president. Every democrat on the ballot is getting their vote and they are in a small town in a rural county.

oh shocker I was right, they are voting for Biden.
